I've never really had a problem with "hope" as an idea.

I'm not sure the "change" ever came? Both sides seem to have people saying he's "done bad things" and "he hasn't done anything".

I'm in the "we're screwed" because people are more interested in "ruffling feathers" and being outraged than educating ourselves, being pragmatic, and solving problems. So our politicians reflect that.

I voted for Obama because he wasn't Bush, and McCain promised another term of Bushism. As it turns out, I'm disappointed how much like Bush the Obama administration has been. A real conspiracy theorist might conclude that any administration is controlled by a power that is neither or both the Republicans and Democrats. I'd vote for Obama again if his campaign slogan were nothing more than, "Still not Bush." While too much like Bush for my libertarian tastes, he's enough not like Bush compared to any GOP offering to likely get my vote.
