I'm looking for some new T/C barrels to buy. 14 inch barrels, open sights.
I need a 22 lr or a 22 mag and a 44 mag or something that I can take a deer down with.
All I got is a 7mmTCU barrel and I need something for deer hunting and grouse and small game hunting.
Or what do you think that I should get?

I have had great success for grouse with a .410 barrel. Use 3 inch shells and #6 shot. Keep the range fairly short and hold for the head, the shot will drop some.

If you want to use open sights a .44 mag. is hard to beat for deer. I also use a 7x30 Waters with a 4x Leupold scope mounted on it. This will about double the range of an iron sighted .44 mag. The main concern with a handgun is being able to hit your target consistently. This takes practice on a regular basis.

I used a .35 Rem T/C contender for several years and got quite a few deer with it. All were one shot kills, mostly under 100 yards, but one was slightly over 200 yds. The ballistics of the .35 Rem are pretty close to the 30/30 but can use heavier bullets.

I also experimented with loading Speer shot capsules designed for .357 pistol use. Not good past about 10 yards - no choke and rifled barrel don't enhance the accuracy at all!!

Ya, I would sure like to get a 35 rem barrel for mine.
I'm trying to get my old mans T/C 14 inch 35 rem barrel from him but like thats going to happen. He has also shot a few deer with it, al have been one shot one kills.
Anyone know of a used but good or NIB 14 inch 35 rem barrel for sale? Or were I can get one?

For T/C barrels, try the WAC Puyallup or Monroe shows. Don't have a current schedule, but Puyallup is normally the first weekend of the month. Good Luck.
