Bought my bow at Vanwinkles (3) years ago. Bob did a great job setting it up, and has expanded a great deal in the last (2) years. True, he is a bit pricey on some, OK a lot of items. Especially after surfing the web. Would go back to Bob for help in a heartbeat.

The nock point has also been good to. (2 ) days before early elk (2) years ago my broadheds started going haywire. Thought I had a good tune job. Vanwinkles was closed. Bob was hunting. Wewnt down to the NOck point, and gt a complete tune job, crono, the works. They even let me out back to shoot broad heads at there large styro block. What did it cost? Not a thing. Even threw in some extra peep tubing and wished me god luck on my hunt. moose moose

Well I know this post was about Archery shops close to Sea/tacoma.. but I just can't bring myself to recommend any of them.. well... I shouldn't say that.. If you are looking for traditional archery gear.. Northwest Archery is the place to go.. they probably have the best stock of anyone in the state....

For compound stuff... D&D Archery is the nicest shop around.. Granted you have to go to Bremerton.. but it is well worth the drive\ferry ride.. lets put it this way.. I live about 1 mile from the Nock Point and I go to D&D if I need anything more than string wax.... Dave over at D&D is one of the nicest shop owners I have ever run into... IMHO.. He's a strait shooter and has always treated me fair... In all the time I've spent in his shop (a lot) I've never seen him try to "sell" something to someone, unless they strait out asked him what he would recommend.. Even then it's usually not the most expensive stuff in the shop.. He actually seems to understand that not everyone can buy a $700 bow and will work with you to get the most out of your money.. I dunno.. maybe it's just me.. but i kinda like that.. he usually has a descent selection of bows (unless he has just sold a bunch) and will let you shoot anything in the shop..

If you want to give them a look they are at:

3476 Belfair Valley Rd.
Bremerton, WA 98312
(360) 405-0643

He is a dealer for … Mathews, Hoyt, Martin, Bowtech, and Parker…

One thing to remember.. If you go in thinking you are gods gift to Arching and come across like an Ass.. don’t expect to get the royal treatment.. but I would hope this is true in any shop..

Anyways.. I’m not gunna bad mouth any of the other shops mentioned here.. Just wanted to tell of my experience and what I felt..

You must live within a few miles of me, Sniggler, if you live that close to the Nock Point. Where is a good place around close to shoot? Email me at jasonm@speakeasy.org with why you don't go to the Nock Point, please. I was intending to make it my "go to" shop except for warranty service on the Mathews bow, since they aren't a Mathews dealer. I've heard a lot about that shop out in Bremerton, but never been there.
