Damned, what a pair. CWU can go out, and shoot all the birds. Sparkey can tie them up into flies for both of them to fish with. WIN WIN situation if I ever saw one.

That's one more thing I have to educate Sparkey on... The guy doesn't know his beer!! So I bring my knowledge of beer, guns, hunting and I already fly fish... Hmmm... Sparkey is good for laughs, though! :p

I saved my moolah for several years, and bought a Benneli Super Black Eagle. It is a real sweet gun, and can handle form 2 3/4" to 3 1/2" loads. I use it for ducks, pheasants, huns, quail, geese, and Turkeys.

My all time favorite, and I'm going to own one some day, would be a Ruger Red Label over and under. Light as a feather, and two shots are more than enough in most instances. My father has a Browning Citori that is about 25 years old, and has only had a single box of shells run through it. That one would be a sweetie too.

Good luck in your choice of guns. It all comes down to personal preference. If they shoot and handle well, I don't care who makes them.

I love my Mossbergs! Sure, they rattle a bit, but I have taken every type of bird this state offers, except for Turkeys, with them, plus two deer and two elk. Shoot them with a coat or two of primer, then green, then black over a fern, and you have a rustproof killing machine at less than 7 lbs.

Scratch it, fall on it, drop it in the salt water. It keeps on going.

I remember shooting a 24 from the 16 yard line the first time I shot my second one. The four other guys with the BT99's just stood there and gawked. "You did that well with that piece of junk?", one guy said.

My reply to him was, "It's a tool for killing birds. It works. It is the shooter that matters, not the gun. Know you tools."

Pretty guns are for posers. Of course, if Santa brought me one of those stainless Red Labels I might just have to try to put a scratch in it.

You can keep those mossbergs... Never in my life will I own one! I am a girl, I'm suppose to like pretty thangs, right?? But I have to say, I wouldn't own another Rugar Red Label. They are not nice enough for the price tag. Might look good from a distance, but not well put together, balanced.. Try breaking/closing the action on one of those vs. a Beretta. There is no comparion. The Red Label is sloppy. (IMHO, of course).

At a banquet I worked on with a conservation group a couple years ago, a friend of mine won a red label. He loves his $20 gun!

The Gold label is suppose to be good, but I haven't talked to anyone yet that has actually touched one.
