Are you happy with it? What is it?
Well I bought a Panasonic 61 inch projecter in Jan of 2008. The bulb has gone out three times now. The warranty for this ends Jan 2012. I have a standing offer from Panasonic to reimburse me for $500 or fix the bulb for free (but will do no more in the future).
They also have offered me a 50 inch plasma for approximately $375 more in cash. Tough calls here. Just wondering if anyone has any tube that they just love.
Thanks in advance for any responses.

We're rolling with a Toshiba Regza 46" as our main set. Had it about a year and it has performed really well with the only con being that the set speakers kinda suck, but I guess that's a common issue with most of the HDTV's nowadays. We bought a surround bar and run the noise through that as a remedy. great picture, nice features, all that I need in a set I really dont watch that much but the wife watches all her girly shows and kids play the Wii on it and love it too. The set has Movie, gaming, sports etc contrast modes which are cool. link to what we have I am so F'in sick of hearing about all these super expensive appliances these days that dont last for [Bleeeeep!]...if one company could build a rep for making good sh!t that would last for more than 5 years they would get all my business.

We have a Sony Bravia 52" lcd that I got at Costco a couple years ago. So far it's been a great tv and no issues. If I had to recommend something, I'd say the Samsung lcd. My mom got one, I think a 55", at Costco last year and the picture is amazing.

42 inch Sony plasma in the living room about 7 or 8 years old....no complaints...do have surround sound system (bose)....was pretty expensive, prices have come down and lcd quality has picked up, so next time likely will be lcd (much, much lighter) cheaper, smaller lcd in bedroom (also with surround sound...who can live without one? ) also works just fine

26" Sharp conventional TV sits in the LR cuz I haven't got around to upgrading to an HD flatscreen yet. Was going to do that with last year's income tax refund, but a bunch of expenses came up. Maybe do it soon since I seem to have money left over after property taxes and the Belize trip. With Parker's input and advice I'm planning to get around a 40" Sony LCD, a new tuner, and the whole 9 yards, whatever that is. I figured I will need some kind of new sound system for it, but I built these new speakers into the ceiling when building the house, and they sound so good, I'm not sure that I need anything else. I guess a sub-woofer is supposed to be part of the sound package, but I'm kinda' down on sub-woofers since I can hear the neighbor kid's going woomba, woomba, . . . when I'm trying to watch my TV, and I have to go tell him to turn it down before I blow his place up. Maybe a sub-woofer dialed down a scoosh adds value to a sound system; I don't know. Anyway I'm looking forward to getting a 21st century TV.

Dad's had a repair shop for nearly 30 years servicing all makes and models.
Hands down he's always recommended the Sony's.
I've had the Sony XBR Bravia 52" for nearly 3 years now without an issue...

slabby's rocking a Bose sound system. That's a solid choice, my friend. We have a 55" Bravia LCD with a Yamaha SS system. So far, so good.

Thanks in advance for any responses. We have a 50" Panasonic plasma. Ours has been trouble free for over four years. Daughter/son-in-law have a 50" Panasonic plasma, also. They've had no issues in over five years. We're both pleased with the picture and the performance of these sets. You can pick up 720p sets like these now for approx. $700 at Costco. If you want the full 1080p sets, you'll pay a bit more. Costco gives you an extra year warranty on any TV you purchase at their store. I'd take the $500 reimbursement and go shopping.

Sg Just because the kid next door blows his freakin ear drums doesn't mean you need to do likewise. The bass of a sub woofer adds a huge dimension, Sg, and once you hear its influence to movies, you'll never go back to being without it. Just my 2, ya ol' dinosaur.

55" Insignia LCD, Best Buys house brand, don't remember who makes it but we've been happy with it in the 3 years we've had it, especially since my brother in law hooked us up with a smoking deal.

Anyone want a 61 inch Panasonic TV purchased in 2008. I called multiple vendors and they say only panasonic service centers carry the bulb. Since I am going to collect the $500 buyout (therefore voiding any future warranty options). I am looking to dispose of this dissapointing piece of chit.

My only advice is what my co worker told me when I was looking. Get the biggest one you can. I was looking at no bigger than 46" (going from a 25" conventional) and I ended up getting a 52". Super happy that I did. If I upgrade from this one I will be getting an 80", but only if they are way cheaper than they are now.

42" Plasma by Panasonic I bought about 4 years ago. It has given me zero problems, but it's hardly ever used.
