I am having a custom riffle biult. laugh (30x 338) I shot a friends who had a shephard scope. I really like the range finding and the one shot sight in. but my question is about the over all quality. has anyone had to try and get the factory to work on one? and what about the lenses are they any good?

thanks,
dc laugh

I've used one a couple of times and also liked those scopes. As for quality they are pretty good. I have a couple of hunting buddies that use them, one in partictualr is VERY hard on equipment and they have held up to his use and abuse for quite awhile. He did have to have one reparied (this was awhile ago so i'm a little fuzzy on this one) but from what i rember the factory treated him very well and got the scope back quickly. The range finding feature is very cool. But, also look at the lazer range finders. You can do the same thing with those (with some more accuracy and more fine tuned calcualted adjustments)
Anyway, hope this helps a little. I haven't used a shepard for quite awhile, so for the most part my experience is from a few years back.
Enjoy the gun, should be a lot of fun. smile
