Mods, i am sorry for bringing this up again, but i truely do not understand whats going on with it... im sorry.. i couldnt go to court on my assigned date for my ticket due to my GF needing the car for school that day... so i did the "Hearing by Mail" option... wrote out what happend, and told the judge it would never happen again, i was polite, respectfull, to the point, and quick... my ticket is checked "deffered" and there are 2 options, 1, i dont get in trouble for 6 months, or 2, pay the full fine... but then a second box is checked, saying i have to pay the full amount by the 22nd of next month... i think i may be reading this wrong, as not getting in trouble is fine, i can do that, but why am i being ordered to pay the fine if i was "deffered'? heres the response from the courts that i got today, am i reading it wrong? do i have to pay, or not get in trouble and it gets dropped?

It means what it says. You infraction was deferred and will be dismissed as long as you have no "qualifying" infractions for 6 months.
You have to pay a $124 and not get busted 6 for months.
Pay the money and don't get another ticket. If you don't pay the $124 it'll compound and life will be even worse than it is now for you.

i will pay it RvDub...
what i dont get tho, is if its going to be dismissed, why am i paying the fine? will it be refunded to me in 6 months? paying the fine to me would be an admission of guilt, getting dismissed means all charges dropped, no paying of fines...
like i said, i dont get in trouble (anymore), so this is rather new to me..
one things for sure, my lisence isnt going to be suspended over 124 stupid dollars...

Deferred means it won't go on your record. Pay the fine, no infractions for 6 mo, does not go on record. You're guilty so you have to pay the fine, and no you don't get the money back.

pretty sure. I got a speeding ticket, deferred, paid $150, no speeding tickets for a year I think, and it did not go on my record. If I would have gotten another within the year, it would have gone on my record along with the new one.

yeah im not going to do a payment plan.. tack on 10 bucks as stated for it, plus a 52 dollar fine for any missed or late payments, could turn it into way too much money for something stupid that i, yes, am guilty of... ill just pay the 124 and be done with it... atleast it wont "technically" be on my record...
i also couldnt go to court, my girlfriends nursing degree is far more important than some stupid 124 dollar ticket... she can only miss 3 days per quarter, and this isnt a legitament reason for her to miss a day... she needs them if she is sick, or something bad happens, ect...
is what it is, and i just gotta deal with it...

also, another reason i didnt go to court, is what they sent me showing the "allowable" reasons for deductions... my case, was NOT one of them, so i figured why waste the time, GF taking school off, if i would be told to pay regardless... so i did it by mail...
i probably shouldnt have been so freaked out, and just told the cop the whole story, and i would have gotten a warning likely...
his response..
Sir, why arent you wearing your seat belt...
mine
I forgot...
GUILTY...
should have re grouped myself and told him the full story, but i didnt.. oh well, its over and done with... ill pay it this week...

no, i seriously was confused..
and salmonsalad, i was reading books by the age of 2 (not bibles, get the real picture) and by the 4th grade,i was in the 12th grade level...
the meaning of dismissal, wich it clearly states after the charge, is what is messing with me... dismissed, either means dropped, or done with... in this case, i think it means that if i dont get in trouble for 6 months, pay the fine, then i will be done with (dismissed) of the charge, and will no longer have to worry or deal with it.. i originally thought that if i didnt get in trouble for 6 months, it would be "DROPPED" which is 2 different things...
oh yeah, the Sox suck.. both of em..

Drugs, Alcohol?
don't answer
No thanks, I've got everything.

this is interesting lol...
look at the first 124, and how its written, then look at the second, then the third, then the date.. focus on the 2s.. looks like 3 differnt styles to me...
Marsha, my GF had to go to court with her brother on Friday, she went to talk to the clerk that sits by the Judges desk, and she was on Facebook....some people shouldnt be there thats for sure..
oh yeah peeps, im not making a conspiracy theory, just odd the way its written..;)

AM,
The point of every RH thread is entertainment. Nothing else.
No one cares about your deed....just make fun of the fact that we can add "trouble with basic reading comprehension" to the long list of RH's struggles. That document was pretty damn clear to anyone with even below average intelligence.
Go Sox, cds Something we can agree on. :>)
