I recently joined this website and am unsure if this is the right place to put this. I have had two members of this website call me inbred. I am not inbred, I recently moved here after fishing many years in the great state of Louisiana. In my home state I would fish and fish and put my pictures on our website and everyone was real nice and we did not attack each other and especially not call each other inbreds. I dont know if you know anything about us down south WE DONT TAKE CALLING EACH OTHER INBRED lightly. That is a insult like no ones business. dont call me inbred please I just want to learn fishing here in the beautiful state of Washington.

QE in any case your in the right place. many here are inbred. they prefer to fish the area called Forks Wa.

I just went on the internet and looked at forks,wa. is this place far from the cowlitz river? I fish only the cowlitz right now and a couple local lakes. All the lakes dont have any bass worth fishing for. The cowlitz river has alot of steelhead trout to catch. Each time I go I see at least 5 of these bright fish caught and ever since i caught mine i am in love with them. They taste so good.

This forum is an eclectic segment of PNW society. You'll get the "Seattle freeze" and you get insulted. In fact, some of the folks here will talk to you in ways that make you sure you don't want them to meet your family, and they'll be the same folks that will go 100 miles out of their way to give you a hand if you need it. This place is home to some of the best folks you could hope to meet, even though the majority are social misfits. We're fishermen after all. If one of us calls you a reprobate, consider it an offhand compliment. And for some reason, we do make fun of people from the southern states. I have a tarheel friend from N. Carolina who I've known for nearly 30 years and just two years ago he pointed out to me that the majority of PNWerners are downright insulting to tarheels. First time I ever knew he took it personally.

"Insensitive" is a gross understatement of many who post here regularly, and if you are going to stay, QE, you are going to have to figure out who's who in this zoo.
There are many very good fishermen here.
There are also some of the very good fishermen who are jerks through and through.
You have to have a thick hide, and when needed a sharp tongue or the bastards will bury you.

Going by the title- is this the right place? I would answer yes but I suggest it may still not be the right place for you, "member friendliness" is an oxymoron after all, particularly if you are new.

QE, find swafford pond above mayfield dam. it's got all the hillbilly inbred hick, warm water trash fish you maybe looking for.
