Todd, ever do a test on a floating bait like easy eggs? Not just neutral. A rising bait. Which will float higher. A one foot leader or a four foot leader.
When I fished the puke, I was using probably # 10 corkies and often two different colors. With a number 4 hook. Hard to say how deep the salmon are in each drift or do you think they hug the bottom. I wasnt snagging bottom with hooks. Usually just the lead.

I think todd was saying that color doesn't matter because they can't see... The secret to countering that is 1inch of red yarn, 2 cm of black yarn, and shrimp oil. That makes the salmon think eggs are on your hook. Drives em nuts.

I smoked a couple bright pinks out of the lower puke and it was great.

The canned version makes a good open faced toasted sandwich with Mossarella, or your usual choice. Better than tuna.

It would probably be because of the 100+ posts that rh put up that had me dumbfounded slapping my forehead scared for mankind.
