just before the weekend news shows and cycle and his 4 swing state tour.
According to Kristol, Rubio,Ryan are the main two with Christie still a outside long shot.
I'm thinking Rubio or Ryan get the call.

No.
But McCain went down the toilet after picking Palin.
She's probably available if Mitt comes calling.

Plus, I REALLY want to see Condi in a debate with Biden. That would be sweet.....and funny in a sad sort of way. I just dont see her wanting the job. I think the higher level in four years would fit her more.

Not a chance in hell that Condi will be chosen. Not Christie, either.
I'll even bet it won't be Rubio or Ryan.
It'll be someone very quiet and noncontroversial so that they don't overshadow Mr. Personality.

I honestly don't understand the Condi love. She was a supposed expert on the USSR but didn't see it's colapse coming at all. She failed the country in her biggest decision by going along with Iraq. She comes off as classy but I fail to see how anyone could think she's even remotely competant given those 2 basic failures with regards to her supposed foreign policy strengths.
She failed the country like no other by going along and selling the Iraq war. Condi = failure.....at best.
Go Sox, cds Because she's black, a woman, and smart...three things that are sorely lacking in Republican leadership. She'd get beat all to hell about her acquiescence in the lies leading up to the war in Iraq...but would get a good piece of the woman vote for no reason other than she's a woman, and is smart and classy. Fish on... Todd

If reality has nothing to do with it then it is Colin Powell. Frankly the two best in recent years that could and would get the presidents job done is Hilary or Mr. Powell. Could have filled the " first black " or " first women " with one of them and we would be moving forward. The base R or D just have to stay way right or left so we get what we have had for the past two presidents.

The smart women and the majority of independents are already voting for Romney. His best choice would be Rubio. You just called about 75% of the women in the country "not smart"...because the majority of women will not be voting for any Republican, much less Romney. Fish on... Todd

Sad little man. I am not of the older generation. I just think it is sad that sad little men think to blame others for their sad little lives. You make out of this life what you want and no one is to blame but yourself. Heard your sad little rants one to many times I guess.
The "ol' ROFL" was at the joke you are. I should have figured you would not get it.

Although Ryan has a lot more substance than the last GOP VP Nominee, I'm not sure I would have picked someone that the Senior Citizens of Florida are going to have a problem with. At least not in what looks to be a pretty close election.

Tax Cuts for the Rich on the Backs of the Middle Class; or, Paul Ryan Has Balls POSTED: April 7, 11:52 AM ET The problem, of course, is that to actually make significant cuts in what is left of the “welfare state,” one has to cut Medicare and Medicaid, programs overwhelmingly patronized by white people, and particularly white seniors. So when the time comes to actually pull the trigger on the proposed reductions, the whippersnappers are quietly removed from the stage and life goes on as usual, i.e. with massive deficit spending on defense, upper-class tax cuts, bailouts, corporate subsidies, and big handouts to Pharma and the insurance industries. What he doesn’t mention is that Ryan’s proposal also includes dropping the top tax rate for rich people from 35 percent to 25 percent. All by itself, that one change means that the government would be collecting over $4 trillion less over the next ten years. http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/blo...nk=mostpopular3I learned how to copy and paste from Hanky.... Fishy

Well, there goes Florida for the Republicans...and any other close state where there are moderates and/or senior citizens that can make the difference.
Far smarter than Palin, of course...but no more likely to help create a win out of the mess Romney is already in.
Maybe Romney is hoping that everyone will be too busy destroying Ryan on his budget proposals to focus on Romney's continual and habitual flip flops on anything and everything of substance.
You Republicans take note...until you stop pandering to the TeaBaggers because you need their votes to get anywhere right now, this is the type of candidate you will keep putting up, and the ass whooping you are now about to take is what will happen in any national election when the TeaBaggers affect who the candidate is.
You're the ones who brought them in...now you're paying for it. You're the ones who will have to kick them out if you want to win nationally again.
Can't win without the TeaBaggers? Yes, you can...but you'll have to adopt reasonable policies that reflect mainstream American ideals, and then you can get the moderates and independents to vote for you.
Keep running farther and farther right and soon you'll run too far away from the majority of votes to stand a chance.
Fish on...
Todd

Not anywhere near the point of my post...my point is that picking Ryan makes it less likely for Romney to win as it for you to come up with an original idea rather than a copy/paste...and that's pretty damned unlikely.
You don't actually think that Ryan will gain one single vote for Romney, do you?
Yeah, they wrapped up the wingnut and TeaBagger vote with Ryan, but they already had you fools...it's the moderates they needed, and it's the moderates they just turned their backs on.
Fish on...

No, the smart voters will not vote for Ryan. The ones who would vote for Ryan are already voting for Romney.
Being a fruitcake TeaBagger won't hurt you in a TeaBagger district (the districts Romney already has)...so Ryan, or McConnell, or any other number of fascinatingly terrible candidates, can win in small districts...put them up in a national election with a vast variety of voters and they will get hammered.
Any vote that he adds, which, as noted, will likely be "zero" because there is no one...no one...who was not going to vote for Romney but now will...will be far offset by the undecided moderates who will say "no fuckin way" now to the Romney ticket.
Go back to your post about the "one in a million" ways that Romney can win the election, insert Ryan, and re-calculate.
Now they're one in a billion chances.
Fish on...

The problem with his "substance" is that it will appeal to about 5% of the nation's voters...because the rest see him as a TeaBagger, which is what he is.

Todd That should just about do it. Unfortunately it's not "five additional percent"...it's five percent, total, and those dimwits were already voting for Romney. It's the six or eight percent that were undecided moderates, which Romney needed to really run the table with, who will not support Ryan's policies...they've managed, not surprisingly based on recent performance of the Republican Party, to alienate the one single most important demographic that they needed to win. People may listen to Ryan up until they realize that while cutting "entitlements" he wants to cut taxes to the billionaires and millionaires to the tune of 4 TRILLION!
Entitlements= What the RWNJ's call those things we work hard and pay for our whole lives while they get to retire on one term with platinum health care and a great pension.

A Tax Plan That Defies the Rules of Math IN May of 2000, when George W. Bush was running for president on a platform of extravagant tax cuts for all, his campaign did something that would be considered remarkable today: it submitted his tax plan to the Congressional Joint Committee on Taxation, to see how much all those tax cuts would cost the Treasury. The bipartisan committee ran through the details provided by the campaign and predicted that the tax plan would cost about $1.3 trillion over nine years, an underestimate but a clear sign of its high price tag. With the budget in surplus at the time, Mr. Bush didn’t dispute that cost, and never tried to pretend that the cuts would be free. Within a decade, in fact, they would turn out to be the biggest factor in the huge deficit he created. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/08/12/opinion/sunday/romneys-tax-plan-defies-the-rules-of-math.html?_r=1Fishy

Obama won WI last time around by 3% of the vote. No Republican has won WI since '84, but Ryan won his seat (in a Democratic district that includes Madison) with 62% of the vote. That Teabagger in him must have some crossover appeal. Lots of TeaBaggers won elections, if you didn't notice...and very few of them will win again, and none of them will win a national election...which you know, but continue to pretend isn't the truth. Those TeaBaggers you guys so excitingly embraced two years ago when you won the House back will be the death of you. When they get voted out, they will not be replaced by "mainstream" Republicans, because there are damn few of them left. Fish on... Todd

Little generous Hank but this guys has a good record of projections. http://www.electionprojection.com/index.phpBO wins but up and down in popular vote and is likely to loose the popular vote but take the electoral 332 to 206. He was down .002 in popular vote but jumped up a bit presently. Senate R's 50 + 3 / D's 48 / -3 . House R's 240 -2 / D's 195 +2. Still early.

Oh. My bad.
One woman was "they".
Or more to the point, one woman was *almost* they, since "they" didn't actually come up with any such bill.
Thanks for clarifying that, Hank.

My bad...it was a bill almost sponsored by some people...they were the "they" who must have really wanted to do away with the EC, since they didn't sponsor any such bill.
Now it makes sense.

First part of any good plan is "First, do no harm"...so making sure the Republicans don't get anywhere near it would be a good first step.
The TeaBaggers will get mad if you put your "hands on" their Medicare while going about the necessary business of destroying Gubmint Healthcare...be careful, you still need their votes.

Well, considering that's what the right wingers would like to do to Medicare (and any number of other "entitlement" programs), why would you have a problem with anyone saying it?
Fish on...
Todd
P.S. Saying they want to "fix" it does not make it so...when the "fix" is to whittle it down to nothing so that it costs nothing and helps no one.

Well the last three years sucked on many levels as to congress. Not a fan of the R House but the with Reid refusing to bring anything forward from the Senate side after the 2010 election and pass it so it goes to conference to reach the middle it is not surprising.
So if you did not like the last three then your gonna love the next four. Odds are the Senate will be R as well as the House with the current Prez still hanging in. Not that bad though as Clinton was at his best with the R's in the majority and lord he had the Newt to deal with. He did have to give up cigars as they were bad for ........ his health?
Second term for any President is about the legacy they leave and not being bound to their bases be it D or R and reelection. If history is a guide and BO wins he will in all likelihood govern much differently. Now that is the crap shoot as the current President is not a Bill Clinton.
