I'm headed out on an Elk hunting trip and am expecting to hit some snow. I saw these Gaiters at Arden's Outdoor Supply and I was wondering if anyone could recommend any of them?

Thanks,
Herbert G.

I've got the OR's shown in red (though I have green). They are bomb proof.

Well... after have several sets that I have used there are somethings to think about....

What does your waist line look like and what is your flexibility? If you can bend over and stay that way for a few minutes then I would say get a rear entry zipper type and I would use the web under boot (it is easier than the lace tie type) so I would say Outdoor Design Tundra Gaiter

If you have a hard time staying bent over for a while then I would go with the Outdoor Design Alpine Gaiter.

I would also say depending on how soon you need them and depending on if you are going to use your gaiters for anything else (hiking) and what type of hunting you are doing (bow, rifle, muzzle) I would look at Fleece Gaiters. They are a lot more quite, but they don't alway keep you as dry as the nylon type. Also, up here in Washington (wet) remember that Gore-tex can and will fail when dirty and constant dampness.

Just some observations as a hunter and Scoutmaster.

Tight Lines and Shoot Straight.

I have some gaiters that I got from Cabela's. I think they are made out of saddle cloth and they work great. I was in a foot of snow this weekend while elk hunting and my feet and legs stayed warm and dry.(Along with the help of gore-tex boots)
