P.S Todd giving crap for republicans voting for the R on a ballot? jesus christ on a pony! you toff, would never vote for a president in your life that didn't have a D in front of it.

Truth and Lies About Medicare

Republican attacks on President Obama’s plans for Medicare are growing more heated and inaccurate by the day. Both Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan made statements last week implying that the Affordable Care Act would eviscerate Medicare when in fact the law should shore up the program’s finances.

Both men have also twisted themselves into knots to distance themselves from previous positions, so that voters can no longer believe anything they say. Last week, both insisted that they would save Medicare by pumping a huge amount of money into the program, a bizarre turnaround for supposed fiscal conservatives out to rein in federal spending.

Here are the Obama savings:

One big chunk of money will be saved by reducing unjustifiably high subsidies to private Medicare Advantage plans that enroll many beneficiaries at a higher average cost than traditional Medicare. Another will come from reducing the annual increases in federal reimbursements to health care providers — like hospitals, nursing homes and home health agencies — to force the notoriously inefficient system to find ways to improve productivity.

And a further chunk will come from fees or taxes imposed on drug makers, device makers and insurers — fees that they can surely afford since expanded coverage for the uninsured will increase their markets and their revenues.

This will sound great to some and sound like a pipedream to others.

Exactly what others think when Romney or Ryan talk about solvency and tax cuts for the " job creators".

If the rate of compensation to Dr.s. clinics and hospitals for patients
on Medicare and the other various 'plans' keeps regressing it won't
be long before a lot of those organizations refuse Medicare patients.
The Government is notoriiously 'tight a$$ed' and slow about paying
claims.
'Course the future plans of all the candidates will address that issue.
Yeah

This is much ado about nothing simply because no matter how convincing any of these arguments may or may not be, the west cost electoral college votes will go to Obama, thanks to what I consider to be an anacroinistic electoral system.

So Hank spin till your dizzy but your state will still be casting their electoral votes for Obama.

Fishy

This C & P is for that fishy-smelling guy. smile

President Obama and his campaign have offered a series of defenses for the roughly $700 billion in Medicare cuts he enacted to help finance his $1.7 trillion national health care law. To summarize, they have argued that 1) the cuts only deal with overpayments to private insurers and providers, 2) they don't affect benefits, and 3) the cuts extend the solvency of Medicare. Not one of these claims holds up under scrutiny.

No C & P back to you AM, but I too have dealt with some frustrating and totally exasperating issues when it comes to health care and my Mother. It is difficult enough for me and nearly impossible for her to decipher which hoop to jump through and which to jump over all the while trying to show that she stills pays her co-pays and supports herself on a fixed income, which she absolutely does all by herself. wink

My intent is to show that no matter which way we lean we are all going to lose, once again the average American is screwed.

AM, my point is that no matter whom is in power we will be the pinball slammed and pushed around with little control as the table is slanted either way, but if you think the R's are going to be any better I believe you will be colossally disappointed.

Either way we are screwed!
