Anybody have a favorite game butcher they want to recommend? I've butchered my own the last several years but didn't have time this year. So I took my deer to Butcher Boys in Puyallup, basically because their prices seemed pretty reasonable and there don't seem to be a lot of options for game processing (I live in Seattle). Just got it back last night - will give a report after I have a chance to sample it.
A buddy just took his to Del Fox, which I believe is up north in Stanwood. Anyway, he didn't seem that thrilled.
When I was butchered my own, I took my scraps to B&E meats in Des Moines to be made into summer sausage, etc. It was pretty expensive, but absolutely the best summer sausage I've had.

I used Fischer's Meats on Front Street in downtown Issaquah. I'd say they did a good job. The pepperoni I had made was excellent.

I second Linds in Covington. I have had them do many of mine and again this year. Flat rate of $65 for any deer up to 125lbs hanging weight. Plus $15 for wrapping. I believe it was close to 65 cents a pound for anything above 125#. Since mine was 168 hanging, cost me $100 even for cutting and wrapping. Well worth the money! Plus they are nice guys and avid hunters themselves. Mike has taken some real monsters and will swap stories quite often.

Thanks all for the recs. Nice to hear about some butchers that are closer to home.
By the way, I'm very pleased with the stuff I got from Butcher Boys in Puyallup. Basically $0.59/lb. for basic butchering, plus extra for the sausage. The summer sausage and italian sausage was all vacuum packed in fairly small packages - nice that you don't have to defrost a huge amount each time. Their sausage is pretty good, although I liked B&E's summer sausage better. Very quick turnaround - took less than a week to get it done during the middle of the deer season.

The Meat Shop on Vickery Rd, Tacoma. Ask for Bobby the butcher. Bobby is a great guy and cuts all game; the shop only deals with organic meat.

Ditto The Meat Shop, but Stewarts Meats in Mckenna rocks!
