Yes, I would disparage and condemn that behavior (like I would condemn the Spanish Inquisition, the Crusades, Catholic abuse scandals, and religious genocide everywhere); what I will not do is claim moral superiority based upon my Christian faith, merely because it is my faith, and simultaneously ignore the fact that every group has fanatics who commit atrocities.

Limiting criticism or freedom of speech only empowers those who are threatening with violence. Deal with the problem, don't pretend it doesn't exist. Anyone want to guess the life expectancy of a female from the middle east? These people need to be educated, not being held hostage by the pages of a fairy tale.

to your first question: not at the moment, but I'm sure there are religious atrocities going on at the moment that don't involve Muslims; to your second: doubtful.

to your first question: not at the moment, but I'm sure there are religious atrocities going on at the moment that don't involve Muslims; to your second: doubtful. Westboro Baptist comes to mind... They just haven't upped their membership numbers to the point where they can start suicide bombings... ...give them time

There is no acceptable violence but to sit idle and allow things to happen is almost just as bad. At least with the current extremist situations.
The more appauling thing that I see in this thread is a narrow scope on the World by some reasonably, dare I say, intelligent individuals. Islam is a HUGE religion that has influences in almost every country and to every border, yet the few, which is a small percentage of the total numbers cast a black eye on the whole Religion. People will argue and attack it for that reason, just as Todd views all Christians as assholes that hide behind a book.
This narrow view of Religion and the people of the World is a big contributor to the Worldly issues that we have today..

My favorite thing about PP is the strong sense of community and shared purpose.  For the record, as a Christian, I am embarrassed at prevalent "Christian" perspectives on things like homosexuality, women, environment, and government (to name a few). It seems to me that hating gay people for being who they are, subjugating women, denying global warming, and supporting candidates that actively seek the murder of civilians so defense contractors can make even larger profits doesn't exactly square with what I've read about Jesus. But hey, it's easier to hate and fear then be kind, compassionate and decent. Until Christians, including me, begin acting better and less hypocritical, we have no place to disparage Muslims, Jews, atheists or anyone else. Even then it's not my place at least  Rare to see something so well-stated on the Dark Site.

I have said it before and will challenge any of you that think Christianity and Islaam are alike with this challenge. You name a predominately christian nation and I will glady where a t-shirt proclaiming what ever you want about christianity and walk proudly down the street. You just got to do the same with a shirt proclaiming the same about Mohammed in a predominately muslem nation.
