You reinforce my earlier post. Too many people focus in on the loud minority groups of each Religion. No every sect of Christianity expresses unacceptance of gays. I believe people that talk in Absolutes while basing on the more publicized loud mouth portions of groups, whether it be Religious, Race, Creed, Etc, are a bigger issue than those that are actually acting out. Absolutes breed stereotypes which breed ignorance.

I get what you are saying but those people are trying to promote what they feel matches up with their ideologies. Once again that is different from sect to sect and person to person. Overall the teachings of both Religions are of kindness and peace. What makes situations and people that are of different or no religion lash out at Religion, is when people take preachings and blow them out of proportion when not keeping them in context. It is the same thing Political reporters, pollers, and candidates do. Agreement and reinforcement of opinions/beliefs by Omission..

I'm a Christian and I don't care about gays getting married, I have no interest in the abortion debate and think birthcontrol should be sold in gumball machines everywhere.

To suggest that an individual shouldn't vote based upon their personal belief system whether or not it entails religion is fundamentally flawed. Moreover the repeal of old laws you mention are doubtfully being repealed by Christians, rather they're being encouraged to be upheld and not repealed. The ones like gay marriage, abortion, etc.

By 'repeal laws' you must be talking about the progressives that want to repeal the thousands of years of the definition of marriage.

I have some very religious family members that don't care much (understatement) for God as I perceive him/her/it to be, and while they are not as intolerant as the "locals", they do have "issues".

You see, I don't care......they do.

And that's all there is to that.

I almost forgot what the heck this thread is about. It's occurred to me that what this world needs is for every newspaper, magazine, and other publication to publish a Mohammud cartoon of the day, week, or month depending on the publication until the whacko Muslims get a fvckin' sense of humor. With 7 billion people on the planet, and 1 billion Muslims, they're outnumbered and never gonna' be able to kill the other 6 billion for blaspheming their Prophet. And if they do try, the other 6 billion might make it clear to them that the world is better off without Muslims.

The day the Muslims get a sense of humor is the day the Christians do, or the Jews, or any other cult group...*not* having a sense of humor, or self-reflectivity, or humility, are things that all religions have in common....well, not "religions" per se, but all the members of said religions.

If they'd all take themselves, their supernatural fairy folk, and their pretend "being offended" a lot less seriously then the world would be a much, much...much...more pleasant place.
