Why is it acceptable to mock one religion and not the other? Allowing others to react violently when they are offended by anything perceived as blasphemous is stupid.

I didn't notice any violence in regard to Mormonism.

I do think, however, that all religions should be ridiculed equally...they're all pretty much exactly the same, so if you're going to bag on one you should bag on all of them...or none of them.

The problem isn't necessarily with the given religion, but rather the people subscribing to them.

Quite few religions are based on some concepts that I think would make the world generally a better place if "properly" applied. Problem is, our (we the people) selfish, greedy, and in some cases downright evil natures F it all up.

Don't tell that to people who think "don't steal" "don't lie" and "don't murder" weren't human values until Moses was handed the Ten Commandments.

You can't have a religion without the people...and you can rightly judge the religion by its people...and any objective judgment says they are all the same, and that instead of using religion as a force for good, it is all too often used as an excuse to be an asshole.

Very true. Most people blame the religion much like they blame the gun. I never have seen a bible or a Koran do anything but it is ok to be completely ignorant of their content just in case they do some day.

No shortage of assholes regardless of what the topic. I see more asshole fisherman on the rivers than I do assholes in church. I don't see groups of fisherman giving up their time and treasure to build schools and hospitals for entire villages in Kenya.
