I dont know what they will have for support. Maybe Democrats will vote out Harry Reid for senate leader. Maybe enough democrats will see their future disappear in 2014, so they get out a head of it. Either way, the states are going to get waivers and the only fool who wants to run with it, wont get any money. Far as I know, the house can defund just about anything it wants.

It will be forgotten, only when another way of making health insurance and medical care more affordable and reduce the number of insured, without requiring a mandate, is implemented.

''Yawn" Now that you girls have settled your cat fight, I thought I'd post something on topic for a change. I'm in the title and escrow business and we're busy. The foreclosure reports we do have gone down, refis are up as are new construction and home sales. Lenders seem to be doing more loan modifications and we're receiving more requests for information for commercial projects. Whether the commercial info requests develop into orders reamins to be scene but at least we have interest in that area.

I'm also in the financial industry and our bottom was probably 2 years ago. At that time, we had people coming in and just giving us the keys to their cars because they couldn't make payments. Things aren't necessarily rosey but it is a big improvement over 3 years ago. I suspect others in the industry would report similar findings.

My wife and I are and have been looking for a new home. Anything that satisfies our requirements are quickly sold and my good friend who is also our RE agent says the banks are gearing up and hiring in anticipation of another big dump by the banks. Apparently many foreclosures and soon to be foreclosures have been held back...

That's what he's been told and that's what I've been hearing from other sources as well.

RvW ~ The 'shadow inventory' is the term used in the biz for properties with non preforming loans that haven't been foreclosed as yet. I was told by a guy that he hasn't made payments for 3 years on his 4 rentals and his home although he's collecting the rent. I don't have a clue how many properties are in this same situation here in Kitsap but I hear similar stories every week. It's been suggested that the banks didn't start the foreclosures as they didn't want to flood the market with foreclosed properties but it may be that they were just overwhelmed and are just now starting to dig their way out as they weren't geared up for the volume of bad loans.
Cash is still king when it comes to buying foreclosed properties but have a good home inspection as some of the foreclosed properties have a lot of differed maintenance.

Good info Chuck....thanks. We are looking at a beautiful new construction in Machias with 4.5 acres of parked out landscaping and river frontage that would be the best of all worlds. It's overpriced so we'll see what they say about an offer.
