If the election shows nothing else, it does highlight the national divide...

Latest vote totals 41.24 million Romney and 40.24 million Obama.

Romney edges out the popular vote, but Obama decisively takes the electoral college by a markedly skewed margin.

OK now 44,144,348 Romney vs 43,931,845 Obama.

less than 200K votes separate them out of 88 million cast!

Now look at how much money each party spent for those votes. One guy's party spent much more than the other and still lost. The other guy had a more efficient strategy.

Seems the party supporting the guy that lost is much more reckless and inefficient with funding a strategic plan, and then loses to boot.

Certainly not a mandate of The People...regardless of who won.

An ideologic divide that shows no signs of abating any time soon.

Four more years of gridlock.

Pretty much what my favorite projector had ended up with.

http://www.electionprojection.com/index.php

If you look closer at the map by counties It a little easier to track out how things break down. To simplify it a bit it is urban vs rural with the suburbs deciding the swing, pretty much irregardless of the state. Almost like we vote one way then build a fire wall. D's in this state then tie em in a knot with 2/3 for taxes. National BO wins, R's kill themselves in the Senate but right back at ya with the R House. Fickle bunch we are!

County break out for 08 but much did not change this time around.

have we already forgotten the 2000 election?

The only thing the popular vote highlights is the fact that the confederacy really hates.......... Obama and as Sanunu puts it "his kind"

Just sayin'

What's the vote count now?

Almost a 3 million vote lead.

Just for kicks and grins I tuned into FauxNews for about two hours while I was working today and the sniveling there was even more intense than it is here...the right wingnuts better get their collective heads out of their asses or the Republican Party will not be around at all in another decade.

Fish on...

No thanks Hank, you can keep Cali to yourself.

I have always felt that we need a moderate approach to governing, to include taxes, debt and spending. Living with these big swings from extreme left to right has done us a disservice and only serves those electeds to sustain their life style and job security.

My left leaning is only magnified by some here that lean extremely right. I would welcome a more moderate approach from both parties.

I don't know Hank, I had nothing to do with it! It's your state.

What isle are you talking about? Emerald? The Hebrides Isles?

Hank,

There's a reason they call it a fiscal cliff. They're gonna' fall right off, each blaming the other, all the way down.

Not my desired outcome; just my prediction.
