I'm Thinking about arranging a trip to Montaque Island in late June or Early July. Does anyone have any thoughts on this. What about camping out there. Also is there a Harrison Cove nearby? I talked to someone who said they camped out there.I'm looking for salmon and good sized Halibut.

You'll find both. I've made a couple of trips to the area, one in the timeframe you've selected. And I'll be back there, it looks like, next June as well.

We ran out of Seward both times with Crackerjack Charters and Ninilchik Charters, both topnotch operations. One trip was an overnighter (spent the night on the boat)...the other two were day trips. Fishing is good for just about everything, but if you're running your own boat, it may take a while to find the best fishing. We found some big halibut, but mostly we tried to avoid the real behemoths.
