I have a buddy that swears he has seen one on the OP. He's been different ever since. No joke.

Danny, The back nine you speak of sounds like wonderful blacktail habitat. I'll hunt that in the early season for you if you like. And about the wood knocking, the squatch my buddy saw was banging two sticks together.

Cut timber for 25 years and never seen one....
You would think if anyone seen one that it would be the loggers of the NW....

I know 99% of them and never have heard a report! Please fill me in where I can find one.... Check out some of John Green or Christopher Murphy's books. There are quite a few logger reports. One of the most interesting (not logger) is from the famous surveyor/ map maker that worked for the well known and historical companies Hudson Bay Co. in the late 1700's and Northwest company in the early 1800's. His name was David Thompson and he was actually in the territory of the upper Columbia River before Lewis and Clark. He kept precise record of things he saw in his daily journal and came upon some massive foot prints. Interestingly, there were only two feet and he kept returning to his journal and writing about how he could not understand what it could be. The French people he was with wanted to keep tracking it and hunt it and the first nations people he was with forbid them as they seem to know exactly what it was and what they be getting themselves in to. There were many reports before the "bigfoot" craze of the 1960's. Cool fact. The Thompson River is named after David Thompson as he was the first white man to explore the area. If nothing else, it's great to have bigfoot stories around the camp fire.

Love the show finding bigfoot... Cracks me up every time I watch it. Every sound they hear in the woods --- "Must be a squatch"
Those guys are pretty smart, have their own show and are starting to make some coin off of it...
For me personally, not a beleiver.... But I did have one scenario while bow hunting elk back in 2008. I was way deep in the back country and was doing some soft cow calling in an area with some fresh rubs, up around 5000ft elevation... I was in an area with some old 2nd growth timber with good visibility. We had set up on the downside of this hogs back within a quarter mile of where I had killed a nice 5pt opening day which was about 4 days prior. While we processed that bull, there was another circling us bugling and we were back to get him...
What we heard didn't make sense, something I've never heard in the woods in my life... We could hear it walking down the opposite side of that hogs back (sounded bipedal). Whatever it was sounded heavy as it broke some branches and it was making a deep grunting/growling noise, it did it about 4-5 times about every 10-15 seconds and kept coming towards us.. I signaled to my cousin to move up the side of the hogs back while I stayed back calling... He moved to within 20-25 yards of where the noise was and it was gone. It never made a sound leaving the area...
Since we've chalked it up to a bear, imho it couldn't have been anything else... The odd part is growing up we hound hunted bears and harvested many of them. I've never before heard a bear make that noise...
I've heard bucks grunt, bulls glunk, porcupines make a grunting noise and none of them sounded the same...
Sort of left me puzzled... But by no means have I ever chalked it up to a "Squatch"..
Keith

That was a ManBearPig, Keith. Half man. Half bear. Half pig. I'm super cereal! You will see that the ManBearPig has been sighted by an "Algore" in and around the Grays Harbor area back in 2009. Apparently they smell bad. Check out the map and click on the sighting. This is a real noshitter! I believe! http://www.manbearpig.net/

manbearpig seen in Washington State's Olympic Peninsula abusing otters. Last Updated by AlGore on Nov 3, 2009 the correspondent describes the manbearpig smell as worse than "the usual smell of the Toothless Olympic Peninsula Meth Head (or any of the panhandlers in Seattle)"

Stam hit this one out of the park. He's 100% right. Applies to some other beliefs too IMHO.

Yeah... a few times, he wanted me to believe it like he did. He wasn't totally comfortable with the boogie man either. Hahaha.... Yeah, I'm sure he got better over the years telling it. I got quite the kick out of the story and he wasn't too happy when he finished and I started laughing... I think he really "beleived"... Keith
