Has anyone heard the outcome of Rieter Ponds and the fate of our summer run fishing recently? Hopefully our efforts didn't die in vain.

It did not get funded by the state! There are still some things going on however, The mitigation requires the power company to pay XX dollars every year and several groups are activley trying to get them to prepay a year in advance to allow the state one more chance to get it funded. Keep the pressure on!!!!

Reiter did not get funded by the legistrators. Last Weds. a group of us from the Sky Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited and the Snohomish Sportsman Club cornered Dr Koenings, the new Director of DFW, at a Haskell Slough "open house" Dr Koenings said that he would be open to disscussion about private funding for Reiter. Meanwhile a renowned member of the Snohomish Sportsman Club is talking with Chuck Phillips at DFW's Mill Creek office about trying to find funds within the department. If Mill Creek let us down then the Sky Valley Chapter of TU will be trying to raise money specifically for Reiter. I will post something in the future if that is where we have to go.
