I haven't seen any updates lately, is anyone fishing the Mulkito Area? I had heard there were a few fish at Point Roberts, we tried it yesterday for awhile, no luck, one guy had a king, about 20#. Some Lynden fishermen were there on Thur/Friday and supposedly got fish??

Fished from the beach on the west side of Whidbey and the silvers are just starting to show. I hit 3 silvers and 2 pinks yesterday, but got blanked on Saturday and didn't see anything. Still seems to be hit or miss, but improving. A far cry from last year. I think the silvers just haven't left the strait yet. I've heard the pinks are showing in good numbers in the Snohomish, although the boaters seemed to miss them while in the Sound. I think they just shot through to the rivers. Tite lines.

Haven't seen much posted on saltwater, anybody fishing or is it too close to hunting season? The upper area of area7 has been so slow everybody's getting discouraged, or so it seems. There really is not much of anyplace to pick up on local information since we no longer have a bait/tackle shop near the launch ramp. The biologists are only doing occasional checks and mostly on weekends. Not much info there. Nooksack River is still getting silty in the afternoons from runoff. Does not appear to be very many people fishing it since it is closed for Chinook, there are a few small silvers(those than can squeeze thru the 5 inch mesh). I was at Mt Baker last week and there is still a lot of snow melting and more to come with the warm weather. You can get to the new visitor's center but that's it. Trails are still covered.

I fished from shore at West beach Sun. afternoon, it was completely dead. Probably 50 people fishing, saw one little silver 2-3lbs caught. Also checked a couple of other spots on N. Whidbey, didn't see any fish caught. Pretty depressing.

I talked w/ tribal fisheries yesterday(briefly)said there were kings and small silvers in the Nooksack. The fish checker at Squalicum harbor checked about 10-12 each humpies and small silvers over the weekend, all came from outside SanJuan. Anacortes would provide a better total,I have no way to get thier numbers. Pretty slow, checked the PSC board today and they have a message posted that they have relenquished control as of the 12th because of slow returns. They say this is the worst year on record. They are saying the survival rate of some of the stocks are as low as 1.5%, blaming El Nino.
