The boys and I went to a range in Scottsdale, AZ last spring. Shot machine guns. Good times. Wife and I went back a few days later to pick up something from the gunstore across thr street from them, and got there just in time to see the panic caused by a "self shooter" at the range we had been at a few days before.

Bummer.

this probably is going to keep happening more and more and more and more...

people are going to realize its far easier to just go rent a gun than it is to buy one, plus, its way cheaper...

some gun ranges, although toughted for how safe they are, are actually pretty dangerous... Wades is one of them...

at the Renton range in the late 90s/early2000s, some dude and his wife came to shoot, if you havent been there, its outdoors, and the bays are kinda close together seperated by plywood sheets for walls, anyways, she takes his Glock and slapped it down on the table and it went off.. blowing a hole through 5 bay walls... noone was hurt, but they were never allowed to come back to that range again... ive also seen guys do stupid sh!t out at Tacoma Sportsman Club as well, the guys there, will kick your ass out quicker than John Force at the Nationals...

Good eye BD, Wades has a policy to not rent a gun to someone who is by themselves...if they bring one from home, then they'll rent them a lane.

people need to look at how that range is ran, and model theirs after it IMO... ive only been there a couple times, but am thinking about joining next month or so, so that i could compete in some of the matches they offer (far more than TSC)...

the main thing i like about Bunyan?

this:

New members will be subject to a background check.

the part i dont like, is that you have to be a NRA member to join there, i can deal with that i guess, that range is top notch IMO...

The place we went to in Scottsdale gets about 1 every two months or so. They make all shooters go through a 3-4 page questionnaire, and watch a 15 minute video before you can shoot.

What? Really?

This whole thing is too bizarre for me.

Commit suicide at a gun range? I guess if you don't own a gun and can't find one to borrow......but it still is crazy stuff.

Really? Did you know this guy personally? How do you know he wasn't diagnosed with a terminal illness that the cost of treatment would have put his family in dire financial straits? Perhaps taking his own life provided financial security for his wife and kids; bravest thing he could have done. My point is, if you don't know the particular circumstances behind why someone chooses to take their own life, you shouldn't label them as cowardly.

Weren't there several people associated with this board that took their own life? One I believe was quite well like, if not revered. Is he labeled a spineless coward as well, too? Or another that used to post here (banned on several occasions), whose son took his own life... I doubt you'd call his son a spineless coward to his face.

Just sayin'.
