Equinox,
You have both Jake (Reefer) and I with the same seats on your list. I assume the ones you pm'd me are the correct ones?
Thanks,
SF

chuck, i saw the west 1st seed and knew right away it was no good... lol

Zags dont get st. mary's throughout the tourney. I thought the midwest 6 seed would work out, but I'm not so sure about Memphis though... Was hoping to get VCU

I have 14 and 15 in the West.

The 14 is Harvard -- an Ivy League team. I didn't even know they played basketball. They match up against New Mexico in the first round. That's a one-and-done.

The 15 is Iona against Ohio State. Another one-and-done.

Hope someone enjoys my jigs....

Not to harsh anyone's jiggy hopes...... mine are already dashed grin
This year there seems to be a lot of parity so hopefully cinderella shows up at the dance.

Which Seeds Reach the Final Four Most Often?

The better the seed, the more often it reaches the Final Four. Here's a quick rundown of seeds and the number of times each one has reached the Final Four:
•#1 - 43 appearances (44.7%)
•#2 - 20 appearances (20.8%)
•#3 - 12 appearances (12.5%)
•#4 - 9 appearances (9.4%)
•#5 - 4 appearances (4.1%)
•#6 - 3 appearances (3.1%)
•#7 - 0 appearances (0%)
•#8 - 3 appearances (3.1%)
•#9 - 0 appearances (0%)
•#10 - 0 appearances (0%)
•#11 - 2 appearances (2.1%)
No team seeded higher than 11th has ever reached the Final Four. George Mason in 2006 and LSU in 1986 are the only teams to advance that far as eleven seeds.
Interestingly, that makes the eleven spot more successful than the ten, nine or seven seeds.

Which Seeds Win the Championship?

Again, top seeds win most often:
•#1 - 15 championships (62.5%)
•#2 - 3 championships (12.5%)
•#3 - 3 championships (12.5%)
•#4 - 1 championships (4.2%)
•#5 - 0 championships (0%)
•#6 - 1 championships (4.2%)
•#7 - 0 championships (0%)
•#8 - 1 championships (4.2%)
The lowest-seeded team to ever win an NCAA Championship game: the legendary 1985 Villanova Wildcats, who beat heavily-favored Georgetown as an eighth seed.
The six seed won in 1988 -- Larry Brown and Danny Manning's Kansas Jayhawks beat number one seed Oklahoma for the championship.

Those three Cinderellas and the '97 Arizona Wildcats, who won the title as a four, are the only teams to win championships without a top-three position in the brackets.

I'm just glad I didn't pull the Ucks. I'd have to forfeit out of the contest...

East 12 seed and South 8 seed.

That's Cal and North Carolina.

Cal's gonna get rocked by UNLV, I'm guessing...NC can take Villanova, maybe, and then they'll get destroyed by Kansas.

I hope the winners enjoy my jigs and the spoons I donated!

Good luck!

Fish on...

I've got Montana versus Syracuse (Reefer) and UNLV vs Cal (Todd) in the first round.
Looks like I'll be 1 and 1 unless Syracuse chokes against Montana, which is entirely possible.

My only hope looks to be UNLV running the table. I wish the Shark was still coaching them.
They'd win the whole thing then go on probation immediately afterwards. grin

Pretty pessimistic Todd. wink Mountain West teams traditionally underachieve in the Tourney, so I wouldn't count Cal out. And yeah, #2 Kansas beat #1 UNC last year, but the year before that I watched #1 Kansas get destroyed by #11 VCU....anything can happen.
