Has anyone fished the Salmon lately or know when it's going to come back into shape?

Well, I ended up staying on Cook creek but I talked with a couple of spawner surveyors that went up to Salmon River. They reported that in the morning it was "cardboard colored" and when they checked it in the afternoon that it had begun to get some green tint to it. My guess is that it will be fishable on Tuesday. Flows should be approaching med. Good luck, Letty p.s. I just talked to another person who saw salmon river at 2:00pm today. He said it will be questionable for fishing on Tuesday. Seem that there is a slide on the river.

FISHED THE UPPER SECTION OF THE SALMON FOR ABOUT AN HOUR THIS MORNING. RIVER LEVEL WAS GOOD BUT MUDDY. LAST WEEKS FLOOD CHANGED THE RIVER ONLY LEAVING A COUPLE GOOD HOLES. DON'T KNOW WHAT THE LOWER SECTION LOOKS LIKE.

Fished the Salmon all day Monday. It dropped about 6" during the day. Marginal, only 6 inches of vis when I started and maybe twice that at days end. There may be a slide upstream. The high water sure changed the holes, lots of mud and snags in the lower end. Managed to get one clipped buck near the mouth. Not many fish in the river today. Only three other fishermen. The road is closed just beyond the bridge over the Salmon. Watch the road in, there are some mondo sized holes and side gullies as a result of the flood. Good luck on Tuesday! Let me know how you do.

The Q-1000 bridge is open. I heard from some guys today that it was turning greener up at the west boundry road (river mile 11) Still only about 1 foot vis below. Heard reports of fish stacked at the hatchery, jumping the dam.

R. Ridgeway is correct. The road just beyond the Salmon river bridge has several trees across it. As Ridgeway said, expect the Park Service to clear it so we could get to Hartzel launch, although last year it took them quite a while to clear the upper road. (Actually, I think someone else bucked the trees last March). I'm not sure what to expect at the launch or further up the Queets river road. If they open it, I'd like to know. Thanks.
