I'll take the "Toronto Trio" Best drummer to ever live, and Lifeson is top ten Geetarist, Getty ain't Bad on the Bass. Who you got? AC/DC second. DanS is going to blow a gasket.
One of my faves.
This song brings chills down my spine.

Just an opinion Nate, you're sure a "right" fighter.

I think Getty Lee's vcoice is the worst in recorded music history. Tiny Tim sounded better.
That said, AC/DC kicks ass in ways the other two bands can not fathom. Rock and roll was defined in 'A long Way to the Top'.
Yeah, that's why Rush is a flop...nonsense.

the 3 bands mentioned have strengths in different genres of rock. all 3 have their + and - .
of the 3 only Rush is a band that have the "lovem or hatem" tag because of Geddy Lee's voice. for some it's a make or break option. in Rush's case they have survived very well in their 40 yr career ,despite the vocals .
as for acdc and vanhalen or vanhagar I like them also very much. I find acdc repetitive redone and overdone copy and recopy tiring at times.
vanhalen had many options and seemed to do okay with overall.

I like Rush.
I like Van Halen, too...........but only with Roth.
I like AC/DC more than Rush or Van Halen, and AC/DC with Bon is on a whole different level. I can listen to any album they recorded with Bon again, and it never gets old to me.

so she was and still is hella dumb, she didnt have her FB locked, and i saw that some people were talking to her (this was a while ago).... so i kinda payed attention and ended up really liking the fact that she was a female guide here, its tough work... so i sent her a friend request, and she added me....
she tells some bullsh!t story about a Tribal game officer coming down her driveway and pulling a gun on her... something about illegal hunting or something... she didnt tell alot, but thats besides the point...
so, i publicly say, to call the WDFW and ask for the Pierce County SGT. and talk to him, as he is the one that runs the area pretty much... i told her i knew him, and he would take care of her, i even said she could use my name for reference so he would know whats up...
well, long story short, the WDFW raided her house, and took a bunch of sh!t, because she was poaching or whatever, i dont know the full details, and illegally guiding i think too, like i said i dont know, but, they raided her for a reason obviously, and she still aint got her sh!t back...
so now, she thinks im the one that got her raided, that SGT. M is my best friend and we go ice skating together and sh!t, that i am a cop, and has also threatened to shoot me because of this (she told someone here that)....
she posts that stupid blog, all of it is false, and trys to defame and or slander me, but i aint even trippin, cuz i know shes a fvckin nut case.... she also should watch her friends that have said statements like "he will be lucky if he doesnt find crosshairs on him", directed towards the warden... too bad shes too stupid to not have caught it tho...
so, fishing twat, if your reading... go ahead and try it... next time it wont be the WDFW coming to your house....

Bon Scott didn't die due to heroin. The bottle got him. Hard to believe he died over 30 years ago. Seems like yesterday. I always enjoyed his singing a lot more then Brian Johnson. SF

All three bands had their moments. Who's better? Ok could angus young play like eddie van halen? Probably could if he practiced and that was his aim. But he's a blues guy,and is the best at what he does. Could Alex play like Ed? Probably. But he's a prog rock guy and is a monster . Could Geddy play like Cliff Williams? He technically would run circles around the guy. His voice is what it is. I have never had a problem with it. Geddy and cliff smash on Michael Anthony but Mike would drink them out of the building. The point being is are we talking technical ability, tone, presence, innovation? Best drummer? It ain't Alex or Phil Rudd. But Rudd played in the pocket and AVH is great at what he does.
Here's my rating. Technically -Rush Flash and stage Presence-VH Innovation-Eddie Tone-AC/DC all the way Ability- They all are better than any of us
Bon Scott for best frontman,Peart on drums,Angus on lead ,Eddie on lead,Geddy on bass, and that group would all kill each other during band practice

AC/DC - High Voltage Rush - 2112 VH - VH1

All great in their own rites. I don't listen to much by any of them at home anymore, but I can appreciate them all while hearing them out and about. AC/DC flat out rocks. You can say you don't like 'em, but there's no denying that Angus Young's tone defines rock to the letter, and Bon Scott's voice was much the same.
Rush is probably the best rock band ever from a technical perspective, but aside from a few songs I really like, I think the overall product tends to suffer from too much technicality, rendering many songs somewhat disjointed. They do get bonus points for keeping the original lineup intact for so long; that really is impressive.
As for Van Halen, we all know Eddie is a guitar legend. Diamond Dave, despite being a freak, is a great rock singer. Wait... On second thought, I guess being a freak makes him a better rocker. I think Alex is a very good drummer, but I dislike the way his playing gets produced on record (hi-hat is always over the top in the mix). The main thing that annoys me after listening to a lot of Van Halen is the background vocals. They always sound the same, and not good at that. Their cover of "Dancing in the Streets" is horrible, in my opinion. Maybe I just don't like that silly song....
Anyway, all three bands boast some of rock's finest musicians/vocalists, and they are all worthy of "great" status in my mind. That said, as good as all those guys are, none of them rank among the tip top of musicians in general. For example, as good a drummer as Neil Peart is, he doesn't touch some of the jazz guys from the 60s and 70s. The popularity of rock music versus other styles probably has a lot to do with the acclaim some of these guys get as masters of their instruments.
They're all better than me. That's for damned sure.

I pulled this tidbit from Wikipedia.
" Rush's sales statistics place them third behind The Beatles and The Rolling Stones for the most consecutive gold or platinum studio albums by a rock band.[120]"

Bon is a f'n legend. He was as good a front man as you'll ever see in rock and roll.

Back in Black will stir any party or gathering from the dead, if that doesn't get your groove on...your probably dead.

To re-affirm what was said 47 times above, all 3 bands kicked ass at different points in their careers. And, for different reasons. I own music from all 3 but you'll see more Rush on the iPod than the other 2.
AC/DC.......Never been a fan of Brian Johnson's voice yet Bck n blk is one of my fav's musically. Go figure. You guys think Geddy's voice sounds like he got permanently kicked in t nuts yet Johnson's voice is so thrashed you can't even understand what he's saying. I'd hate to be that poor bastard trying to grind out an entire tour. Bon was in a league of his own. High Voltage (the import) was a fav.
Van Halen...The albums up through Diver Down were the best. Van Hagar doesn't count. The boys could rock but even being the guitar god he is, I actually think a lot of Eddie's playing sounds the same after a few songs. The same guitar acrobatics song after song only goes so far for me.
Rush.........3rd best selling rock band of all time. There's a reason for that guys. Some fans appreciate the flash and thrash of our first 2 bands, others are drawn to the technical precision and song writing of Rush. I guess that's where I fall. And, as mentioned above, the same trio sticking it out together pushing 40 years is nothing to blink at either. But more than anything, There fans love how they pretty much told the world and critics to stick it where the sun don't shine during those 40 years and did exactly what they wanted to without selling their souls to the industry.
Sorry, didn't mean to type a thesis.......just a fun topic.
Any other Judas Priest fans? God, I love their music. My second all time fave, never did see them live.. Halford voice is badass!
What's some of your favorite bands?

Saw em when I was 18 at the Oakland Coliseum. I was lit lol. Saw them 4 times after that. Back when they were on top of their game few bands could touch them.
That was a blast from the past, I don't think they were around very long?
