http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1692058-gold-washington-football-helmets-leak-on-twitterI understand about keeping up with the Jones and recruiting. That being said, I say [Bleeeeep!] the new uniforms and helmets. If anything go back to the classic look from the early 80's .....and win some games. New duds don't mean anything if they continue to play .500 ball. SF

Although I agree with you it will never happen. Lets face it we are just bitter old folks The fact of the matter is that this is exactly what recruits expect and makes a huge impact on being able to recruit nationally. The days of "owning" the state no longer exists along with the days of stealing a Steve Emtmen because no one ever saw him play in Cheney are also long gone! You can also kiss the 12:30 start times for the same reason. If Sark could schedule every game on primetime ESPN Monday thru Saturday he would for the same reason. One reason Wa has had back to back excellent recruiting classes is that exposure on "blackout" Thursday nights. High School kids just think it's the bomb!! This is reality in big time recruiting so us old farts just need to get the memo

Back to back excellent recruiting classes, and still a bunch of uninspired garbage on the field.
High school kids are idiots. I'm glad we're lining up to join them in their idiocy.

There will be no sneak plays with those golden orbs. If you play Notre Dame, welder's goggles will have to be be issued at the gate.

It's cheating. They're trying to blind the opponent so Sark's play calling success will move up to the "snowball's chance in hell" level. Edit: Yoo-hoo NCAA.... Might want to have a lookie at this schitt.

'bama doesn't need faggy new helmets to kick your ass.
Neither did Auburn, right Duck fans?
I don't give a [Bleeeeep!] what they wear as long as they play tough, inspired football.

Fu.ck the smurfs. If we play tough, inspired football, everything will take care of itself.

Not losing to the Smurfs back-to-back should be adequate inspiration. After two unthinkable losses at season's end, Sark had better have those Huskies ready for the opener.

7-win-Steve had better figure out a way to become at least 9-win-Steve pretty soon or he should get his bags packed.
He just hasn't proven to be much of a head coach. I told one of my buddies I went to UW with that I'd go to the home opener at the new HS - but I was going to charge the field and kick Sark in the ass if they lost to BSU.

After years of complaining about having to play too many true sophmores and freshmen, Sark finally has a team with a starting unit consisting primarily of upper classman.
Keith Price was banged up for much of the year after the LSU game. There also wasn't a ready backup. This year with 3 other guys competing for playing time I don't see Sark hesitating to yank Keith if he doesn't get the job done. You can run the zone read all you want but if your qb never keeps it the defense doesn't have to honor it.
We will see soon enough and 1 thing is for sure. This is his team that he recruited. Granted, Keith commited to He Who Shall Not Be Named but signed his LOI under Sark.
The helmets are not my taste either. Neither are the black uni's. Same with the all white. I remember watching them get clownstomped at home in 88 against Colorado wearing all purple. They played as bad as they looked.

A BrotherChin sighting!
I like the old uniforms...too many good memories as a kid sitting in the end zone every Saturday afternoon that the Dawgs were in town and watching them trounce most everyone who had the bad luck to have to play us in Husky Stadium.
I think a healthy Keith Price will be a really good quarterback...if he stays healthy.
Fish on...
Todd

I'm not sure Price was ever the problem. Our problem since Jim Lambright left has always been at the line of scrimmage. Our offensive lines have been a disgrace, and the defensive lines have been worse.
You could put BJ Hobert, Napoleon Kaufman, and Joe Steele behind those lines, and they'd get killed. The reason those guys shined is because of the lines they played behind. Skill players behind crappy lines just become injured skill players.
GET SOME F'ING LINEMEN, WASHINGTON!

Can't argue with any of that, Dan...Keith got hurt because he was running for his life against LSU, and it didn't get any better after that.
Fish on...

Ahh, the recruitment of lineman. Once something that was taken for granted, this has become increasingly tough over the years. I think it's safe to say that if we had kept our own in state lineman things would be looking better. It's hard losing these kids but I can't really fault kids like Josh Garnet and David DeCastro deciding to go to Stanford.
It was apparent during Neu's first recruiting cycle that the emphasis on trench players lost it's priority. We may never get back to controlling the line of scrimmage on both sides. Once you lose it, it's very hard to get it back.
Even right now we have 2 4 star WR commits and 0 OL commits. And for those interested, Bellevue's Budda Baker is tearing it up on both sides of the ball this week at the Nike Opening camp. He will be one of the top prospects nationally.

Line play is the heart and soul of the game. The skill guys get the fame and the pretty girls, but the linemen make it all possible.
When Nick Farley came crashing down on Darron Thomas in what seemed like milliseconds, I thought, holy sh!t...they're on another level. With no hogs to stop their hogs, yer fukked.
