I've always been impressed with anybody who can fillet with ease. I've never heard of this knife before.

I've heard from some processors that the blade is the best on the market. It should be for the prices they charge. I may have to buck up and buy one for a consumer test report. Of course, I'd actually have to stop working and go fishing first.

I'll bite. I ordered both the flex & stiff 9" knife.

Will report back.

I did just fillet up 29 salmon with a similar Dexter Russel and it never needed to be resharpened.

Not too sure what Bubba can do that a DR can not.

Oh well. Knives are cool. Can never have too many.

A Bubba Blade is on my wish list right now...seen a few in action and they sure seem nice, and $60 or $80 ain't much for a good knife.

Fish on...

If it ain't broke...

I run a few thousand fish through a pair of DR's and only tune them up once or twice a season. No need to look elsewhere for perfectly good fillet knives in my opinion. Hard to beat the price as well.

My two Bubba knives showed up. The rigid and flex 9" knife. I don't have to use them to know that they are not designed for those who butterfly fillet salmon. Forget carving up a fish Doc style.

If you are the person who hacks off a fillet rib bones and all, I'm sure these knives might be up your alley. But, for those that want some finer cutting, forget it.

The knives are sharp asfuck out of the box, but no idea on how they hold an edge as I haven't had anything to hack at them with.

I guess if I ever need to carve a big old roast or fillet of cow they would be a good knife. I bet they would also work well for carking a tuna or similar type big fish.

I'm not sold. I now have two really expensive knives that I'll probably never use.

For Sale: Two Bubba Blades. Never used. $100 for both and I'll ship them to you.

Exactly.

My Dexter's have not lost their starting positions yet and it's doubtful they ever will.

Dexter uses some hard material.
My standard Lansky bounces off of them.

I need to break down and get the diamond stone.

What is a G1000? Is that an older Lamiglas rod?

No.

Now, if it's a Sage 290, I'm in.

Oh, and RVRFSHR's are a gimmick. Everyone knows that. Keep that POS spoon.

The fish was harmed with a Sage 290 and a RVRFSHR. wink

I already have a Dexter Russell Meat Cleaver.......

I keep this DR at my bed stand. That and a painfully bright LED tactical light. Last thing an intruder is going to see...is a really bright absolutely blinding light before I lop off their freakin' head. Or, hack off an arm. Either way, I'm going to need to call in a cleaning service, as there will be body parts and blood everywhere. Good thing I'm renting.

This DR has been treated by the WorkSharp. It's RAZOR sharp.....

Both knives would be good zombie knives. Easily could put these suckers up through someone's skull and in their brains....or in through their eye sockets or mouth......

I read about Bubba knives a while back and clicked on the link. I got Bubba blade ads following me on all kinds of websites for months afterward. I hope clicking on this thread doesn't restart the cycle.
