I heard last wednesday they killed them. Then I heard that it was slow. The river must be down by now so I think it maybe hit or miss. The way it's been all year. I fished there two weeks ago, nothing. My friend goes following week, two landed a couple lost. This is on the Nooch.

I think Jim hit it pretty well on the head. I don't think either one would be a GOOD bet, but either could pay off big if you're in the right place at the right time. We went 2 weeks ago and spanked them, including a 21 lb. native buck. Went last weekend and only managed 1 chrome hatchery fish. This was on the upper drift on the Nooch. I heard the Satsop is also hit-and-miss.

If I was going, I'd look at the stretch below the 7400 line on the Nooch down as far as you can past the put-in. Good looking stretch of water there........

Fish on.........

I wouldn't call the Nooch "too low". The day we spanked them it was at 775 cfs at Save Cr. and now its at 750 cfs. Not too much lower. The problem is the boat traffic floating over them all day. Try to hit ABOVE the launch and you MIGHT find one that's willing. They're both kinda slow, but would you rather fester around the house or go wet a line?
