I have a Quinalt Indian friend that has offered to take my down the lower river. He has his identification card, and all the other accessories that go along with that. I have a 16' sled and a 16' drift boat. My question is can I use those boats on that river? I understand that you have to have a valid resident with you at all times. Is there walk in areas? Can this so called guide call my boat his for the day and have me row it or something like that?

Andy, all boats on the lower Quinault must be Enrolled Quinault Indian owned and Enrolled Quinault Indian operated. The boats must also be registered with the Quinault Tribal Police. There are places you can walk in on the Quinault river. In that case you just need to stay within 100 feet of a Quinault member. 2 non-member per member on the banks is the limit. 3 in a boat. Hope that helps you out.
