Could anyone out there guide me in the right direction? I've only lived in Wa. for three years now and I've learned to love steelhead and salmon fishing. Well anyway I'm planning to head out on the peninsula for the first time camping and fishing for a couple days hoping to C+R a Wild steelhead or 2. I don't have a boat so I'm stuck on shore and I was hoping someone who knows the area could tell me which river to fish. The Bogachiel seems to be the best fishing with descent bank access from what I've read and heard. I'd appreciate any help you could give me.
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!1

Lots of choices up there the SolDuc has a lot of bank access also as does the Hoh check in town when you get to Forks they will point you in the right direction... Good Luck

fish_finder, the Hoh above 101 would probably be my first choice if I were bankfishing, lots of good access here, good fishing

Thanks for the help I'll be sure to try that area of the Hoh while I'm up there and ask around locally. I appreciate the help and I'll let you know how I did when I get back. But I don't leave till Wed. and anymore help I could get before I leave could help me out greatly.
THANKS

fishfinder- I'd find my way into the Calawah. Another bet from the bank is Richwine Bar on the Quillayute. fish from all three rivers must pass by there and I heard of two fish in the 20's caught there last weekend. Looks like conditions will be "too good" (low/clr) so adjust your approach accordingly and have fun.

For those who gave me some advise thanks. While I didn't hook one of the monster natives I was looking for I did learn some new water and C+R'd 2 natives about 6-8lbs. Not prizewinners but much better than getting skunked. I fished the Bogachiel and the upper Hoh and probably would've done better if I had skipped the Bogachiel on this trip, but I was curious. Anyways thanks for your input and good luck on your next trip.........DON'T FORGET C+R..... save a few for next trip.
