Anyone fish one?

Thinking of picking up a used one for bobber dogging. The mod action kinda scares me, but like the 10.5'.

used to have one, before i really did much bobber fishing. kind of a lousy drift rod, not quite fast enough for me. decided to pick one up a year or two ago and they no longer make them. in fact, it seems like lami really took the ax to most of the G1000 line...lots of good rods no longer available. same with certified pro, too.

I'm thinking of doing the stick weight float assisted drift fishing w/ it. Might be too soft for that application.

Brad,
It's a great stick, use to be my big water rod!!! But have regulated it to my Sekiu/Grays Harbor duties now, since there's lighter rod's out there!!! For me it got heavy fishing it all day, but all the Chinook landed on it didn't help my arm either!!! I thought the action was nice, and no doubt it had the power in the lower end. Might be good choice for a float rod, for a big fella like you!!!

unless its a really killer deal and you cant afford something more, i would personally just get a rainshadow, their xst rods would double up for drift fishing much better.

1264 is like the staple of what you are looking for... and is one of the most popular blanks they have for that reason among other reasons.

unless you really desire that 10-20 then 1265, but [Bleeeeep!] i use my 1264 for kings still. but the action and weight of the 1264 is $$$ for bobber dogging
