Bob is either updating the board or needs to reindex. He may need to turn the board off while he updates links. He did say he was going to hack the board, not sure if he is finished.

Hey Guys
Maybe Andy could sell you some rod? If not you could call R&R Marine in Port Angeles and ask to have some shipped.
If these options don't work I will go buy it and sell you some.

Sorry guys ... don't know what happened to it. Every once in a while, I think stuff just gets launched into never-never land for no particular reason.

Hey TH why would you want a foam company to make puff balls for you?there pretty damn cheap as it is,i don't think there's a person out there that fishes enough puff balls to make it economicaly worth it to have a foam company make them for you, just my .02,good luck

Hey Steelheader Boy. Where is your source in Oly area, if you don't mind divulging the info.? I've been keeping my eyes open in all of the home improvement and fishing stores. So far I have only seen the stuff at Narrows Marina in Tacoma but the price for a package of three 3 inch pieces was $1.79(?) and seemed high. Luckily I have an aquaintence who bought a 1200 foot spool of white with four or five of his buddies and he is willing to share some. However, it's amazing how many friends he's got now. I would feel better if I could find some of my own and replace some of his.

I have looked all over for this white rod and can't find it. I might have a place found now. gotta go check them out this week. they are in Fife, kinda across from the Harly shop. I found the red stuff. the funny thing is a few of the places I have checked say they have allot of people looking for it to make fishing stuff. I smiled and said that is what I was wanting it for.

Try Fisherman's Marine and Outdoor in Portland 1-800-718-2628. They sell the 3/8" RAG foam for 3ft/$1.99. If they are out ask for Mike Codino and tell him to get Kelly Reickner to order more. If that is not fast enough try Chris V at 1-503-335-3849. Chris also will part with the foam for 3ft/$1.99, but shipping in unknown. Chris can get 1/2" too but it is more $ and would take some time to get. The foam comes in diameters up to about 3 inches, I have some 3/4", 1", and 1.5" for floats. I'll check back to be sure everyone get the RAG foam they need. Take care.

NOTHING!!

I checked the place in fife and it was some yellow stuff. so I am back to ground zero. this stuff is like gold!!!

I have tried some of the gray stuff but no luck. I am using pink, red and white yarn. I will keap flipen these maybe I will get it to work. I have used them with bait and without. with scents and without. I know they are killer. I have seen several guys out fish me 10:1 with them.

I really don't wanna buy it out of town if I don't have to. but that is what it is coming to.

There is a place in WA that sells 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2", but very pricey 1.5-2 ft for $2.50 last I checked. If you want the 1/4" he is the sole owner of the only batch produced. The company is called Trophy Tackle. The number is out there, but I have forgotten it. He also sold to ALL SPORTS in Clackamas OR, so the smaller tackle shops in WA and OR buy from ALL SPORTS and might be able to get for you.

ace hardware has the 1/2 in gray, bought a roll of 20 ft for $3.50 with tax.
thought i would experiement with solid cloth dye to change appearence.

if you want gray ace is the place, just ask the coach on the commercials.

Curt, I would like to experiment with a little bigger puff balls... The company that I buy them from, (in bulk) only makes three sizes, with the larger being #3's. I would like to fish a #4 or #5.... but they don't make them that big.

It's not about money, it's about catching steelies..

Trophy Tackle's phone number is 1-360-435-8624 and lives in Bellevue WA. I have found some places have a very light gray, but white is more durable. Andy if you see this please email me the price list for your products. (see profile) Have heard of guides boondogging (sp?) the rag on the coastal rivers and doing quite well, and a friend uses them for bottom fishing. The possibilities are endless.

If your are looking for cheap backer rod go to a Home Depo or an Eagle hardware. These two stores carry the same type and color of backer rod in stock. I think is is a 30' - 50' roll in one package. I think is sells for about $4.50 per package. The two colors that they carry are light grey and charcole colors. Hope this will help. You really don't have to travel far if this will satisfy you. See ya!
