This "new" imx line has LONG been waited for. I see no reason, not 1at all to praise G-loomis for finally giving the public what they wanted for so long.

You all forget that there use to be such a line up before with many more options. That went away for no other reason that marketing.

I'll bash the company all I want. Because I personally see no reason at all to praise them as a company.
Yet, I am glad to see them finally bring back the imx and all its options. Its been a very long wait...and I'm pretty surprised to see some rods in that lineup. It goes against the direction Loomis has been going

Not much of a Loomis fan myself for a couple of reasons, but I'm glad to see that someone is making steelhead rods that are heavier than 6-12 and for something other than sidedrifting yarn puffs and double hooked cheaters.

Fish on...

Again the only rod I'd consider putting in my arsenal would be a 1264 built as casting a rod WHICH IS NOT OFFERED...I never "knocked" the performance of the new IMX BLANKS but I am saying the new cork/reel seats and tensioner/fore grips and especially the logo above the foregrips are something I would NEVER put on my builds . I prefer my personal rods to look different from anybody else's so I can easily identify them as mine. If im going to pay an average of $400 per rod I would hope to have look, feel and perform the way I want it to not the way the manufacturer wants.

[quote=AP a.k.a. Kaiser D]I'm still waiting to hear the answer if the loomis expeditor service applies to these rods? $100 fee? Can it be used more than once?

I like Loom is rods in general but think there are some models that are better than others. The STR1084 in IMX is special sauce and the STR1025 is a badass workhorse. That said, it is hard to not see nearly all manufacturers' high-end rods as being drastically overpriced.

[/quote

any loomis rod can be expedited, $100 service charge, no limit on how many times it can be done!

Yes the expeditor free will be $100, and yes it can be used more than once.

As far as the chicks in waders, Bryanna, the shorter one fishes a bunch, check out http://steelheadgirls.com/

IMX graphite for float rods just comes down to weight reduction and balance.

GL2, GL3 haven't changed, neither has the Salmon Series. The float series, and Steelhead series are no longer in production.

Am I understanding this correctly....?

The popular models 1025, 1141, and 1084 will no longer be in production?

Ive spent plently of time fishing with 1141 and 1143 and they are great, im not gonna deny that and im not gonna try and change your mind because its fact! the 116(1,2,3) are just that much better!!! you can feel so much more with that extra 2 inches. 3 years ago it was hard to find a 9'8" rod or 116 inches and more and more companies are starting to produce the because they know its not worth the 9'6" anymore.

Doesnt everyone want another 2 inches?

Loomis_Shimano_Rep - Why are the prices listed on the GLoomis website substantially higher than what you listed at the beginning of this post? For example, on your original post the STDR IMX 1103-2c is listed at $395. On Gloomis.com it is listed at $475 !

Try float fishing with a cheap float rod all day then float fish with an IMX and tell me which one you would prefer to be holding for an extended amount of time.

Went to the Portland show Sat. Morning all the rods I wanted were not available, not even made yet. I had to pre order thru bobs and have them ship to me $$$ kind of B.S. Only reason I did it was 30% off at show, so I got nothing to take home to look at. You get a free a hat & shirt. All they had for shirts was Lrg. Will have to ship that to.
Was a great launch for the IMX all I got to take home was a hat for $$$$

Sorry you felt this way, we sold more than we had imagined, hence the shortage of rods in select models at Bob's, and the lack of sizing in shirts! Some of the models are running 2-3 weeks behind on production, but don't worry they will be here soon! Thanks for your purchase, you'll love them!

The Loomis site has some pricing mistakes and will be updated shortly. The chart I posted on the original post is the correct pricing.

No, classic IMX rods 1025C, 1141S, 1082S, 1084C and 1021C will remain in the lineup unchanged. The Steelhead series and float series is what got replaced with the new IMX rods.

It comes down to production capabilities. GL2, GL3 classic IMX, and GLX rods are remaining unchanged in the line. We wanted to update the steelhead and float series, so we took the popular models, added some, cut a couple, and now we have the NEW IMX lineup.
