Here's what the legion of BOOM has to defend on pass plays (no stats - just players).
I also include KnowMo because of the outside, middle screens and sneaky sneaky shovel passes (which you will see in the red zone - mark my word on that).

Everyone of these dudes can get after it and all em' have caught or run for 10 or more TDs this season.

The Hawks are going to have to defend 4 - 5 good-to-great-to-very great receivers on many many plays all night long. One at a time, play by play - these bad ass dudes ARE going to get open.


I called this earlier in the year when I picked the HAWKS - DONKS Super Bowl and specifically said that the Hawks can't cover all of em' all of the time.

Denver is going to get their point boys. Don't kid yourself on that. This is the greatest single offense in the history of the game and it won't get shut down. If Peyton plays badly, he still gets 300+ and 3+ TDS


The difference will be the Hawks O against the Denver D. Book it.

Nick, I hope all those guys you listed are on the field at the same time cause that means the Broncos only have 3 guys on the OL blocking. If that happens Payton will need another neck surgery to attach his head.

Broncos are gonna get some yards but gonna end up kicking field goals just like they did against NE in the last game. Manning is going to throw a pick or two also.

Bottom line is this: The Broncos are a great offense but they aint seen a defense like this all year, not even close. However, at the end of the day it will be the Hawks offense that exposes the Broncos defense for the frauds they are and Hawks win 27-20.

PS: Broncos have a great offense but it ain't the greatest of all time. Might be one of the best in the last decade but that is about it. Pretty tough to compare to other teams from previous eras since defenses today don't get to play half as physical as previous defenses. Combine that with the fact that no one in the AFC played defense this year and you end up with a team that loaded up statistically on a bunch of crappy teams.

Within the echo chamber, everyone keeps saying that Denver hasn't seen a defense like this before. That is true. But the Hawks haven't even come close to playing against an offense like this. If you think the Niners or New Orleans sets the bar then you would be mistaken.

That's about it guys. That's all you have defended. 3 dudes at any one time is easy peasy to cover. Now cover 4 - 5 very good ones every damn play all game long. Bring your oxygen because the fittest NFL players come from Denver (same reason the Olympic team trains in CO Springs). Now they get to go to sea level with double capacity. I'll take that. I will also take a couple of those 7+ minute drives again ala the SD and Pats games. I can't wait to start seeing hands on hips.

If the AFC doesn't play Defense then the NFC doesn't play offense. Good luck playing catch up with your O the way its built.

Welker has more play off receptions and touchdowns than any other receiver in the history of the game. Including Jerry Rice. You guys are going up against 2 all-time hall of famers that are glued together. Good luck!

Btw, for my money the Dan Fouts Air Coryell offenses were better and they had to face the Raiders defense with Lester Hayes and company twice a year.

DB - yeah those Fouts teams were pretty amazing for their time. The Donks #1 rival has always been the Raiders, so I know that old defense all too well. Dan used to just smoke em' before he passed the AFC torch to Elway.

Even though Denver hasn't played the Hawks with their NFL best D....they have beat some very good D's this year (KC, NE, Balt. and SD all have top 10 D's). Yes those teams don't have what the Hawks have...but that is still some very good company.

Again this game will rest on what the Hawks O can do against the Donks D. Mars will get his carries and the Hawks will score....but can they score enough? I'm not sure that they can. If they get down 2+ scores to the Donks, they will probably have to cut back on Mars and open up the passing game a bit which could get them off schedule very quickly.

T.O.P. and T.O's will be huge in this game (as always). I do predict Peyton will throw 1 INT to the LOB, but no more than that. IMO - He won't press coverage too often (because he won't have to)
