dcrzfitter-

The nets are in from sunday to tuesday I beleive. So if you hit it durring the days the nets are out you shouldnt have a problem. You can bank it right by the mouth it can be very productive.but watch where you go stay out of the MUD you will be stuck for sure.It can be good on the south side of I-5 also (When the nets are out)there is a ton of bank access. puresteel------<")(((>><

Elmtree,

Read the regs, june 1-nov 30 is the only time the river is open for steel,july1-jan31 it's open for salmon .I fished it every day at lunch, during the king and chum runs this year, and it was nothing like everyone said it was last year. Its nice having a river that close to home, too bad they can't limit the netting a litle more, give the indians a canoe and a spear. It's not like they had outboard motors and the quality of nets as they do now. I say equal rights for red and whites. When will this nation get over this? Come on, it's just like the killing of the whale last year. Did their ancestors ever get towed around the sound with a motor, I somehow doubt it.

Yes the nets are sapose to be out on some days BUT we are telking about a type of people who can do as they please, especially when it's up the river out of sight. I floated it last year when they had their nets in and it was on a no net day. they were out down low where they could be seen from the road but up above they were in, in full force. what a shame!

I took my wife for a drift down it last summer and in every bend you would see an old net washed up on a log jam. What a shame too bad they can't atleast clean it up a little when the water gose down.

riverdrifter,

Yes you are so right about the nets in all the logs on every bend or around ever little snag stiking out of the water. It is a shame that when the fish start to slow up they don't bother to go back and pull them out they just forget about them and they get washed down and who knows whatn damage they do.
