Fished the Hoh this weekend! With no rain the fishin was pretty good. For everyone else it seemed. Oh, well some people just have there days don't they. The only river that is worth wasting you time at is the Hoh. All of the other rivers are too clear!!! The Hoh is well known for it's rich color, even at not so good river condition. I saw landed a #15, 20# & and #24 right on the same bend on the lower Hoh about 1 hr. apart. Now tell me that's some fishin!!! Good luck, fish on!

Can't speak for the Quinault (Upper or Lower) ... Park / Tribal Rules, so I don't get a chance to read them.

While there may be an oddball springer in the Hoh at this point, it's not open for a long time time yet, and the Bogey doesn't have a springer run / season, so for springers, you'd probably be better off looking a few hundred miles south!!

The Hoh is about three hours from Tacoma. Hint: don't drive through Aberdeen. Those cops have a bad reputation for aggressively enforcing the town's speed limit.

The Hoh is closed this spring for chinook. It may open in June for Spring Jacks and summer-run steelies. But lately these fish have been few and far between in June. You're more likely to catch an outgoing winter-run snake during this time. Skip it.

Schitzo, sounds like you're a bank maggot. If you really want to catch a springer on the peninsula. Either hire a tribal guide or head north to the SolDuc. Fish the lower river at the bark hole or confluence. Use fresh sandshrimp, eggs drift-plunking and throw vibraxes or teardrop spoons.

Schitzo-Check the map and the regs. I use 12lb-15lb Maxima for springers. Expecting a 35# is asking alot-like asking for the 20lb steelhead. However, play your christian rock to the fish gods and maybe they will be kind to you.
