I am semi-new to steelheading, and I was wonering if the spring-run steelies hit the same stuff as the winters, pink worm or jig under a float , I can't use bait ( it sucks) in the Snowqualmie June through nov so I need to start buying more lures and corkies.

SnowChuck,
As for your bait ban goes I sell jigs and rags. My jigs are deadly on summer run fish. My rags are smaller rags so they will work great with summer run. You can check out my products at http://The_Steelhead_Solution.homestead.com
as for do they hit the same things, yes but you have to take a different approach to them in my opinion. Go light!

thanks,
Andy Matthews

Jigs are deadly on summer fish as are pink worms fished on a jighead below a float. I use rainbow jigs and jigheads and highly recommend them. You can contact them at rainbowjigs@aol.com and they can get an order form out to you and make recommendations of colors and sizes to use for summer fish.

Hey Schitzo--I use a slider or a fixed float(bobber) depending on how deep I am fishing. Any deeper than about 5' and I go sliding. DEADLY for Chinook!!! If I am using just Sandshrimp then I use a threader w/the hook coming out at their mouth and a half hitch around their tail to keep them straight--with eggs I just use the tail, hook once and run through the bait loop. As far as poison--been "bit" more than a few times and I am still relatively healthy so I can't give you any clues on that one-I generally leave the claws on unless they are huge though
