Well how was it Sunday? Saturday was nothing for me, and some others too. Everyone I spoke to did not have one bite.
I fished the canyon upper holes, from light to about nine oclock. Fished the beginners hole for a while ( Kept hitting smolts ).

The Kalama is gorgeous!

Thanks to those who did the cleanup on Saturday!!! (saw the post today :-S )

NOTHING!!! just a few smolt. they have thinned out some but are still bait robbers. what little bite we heard of was very early. We didn't see a single fish caught. the fish checker gal said she counted 2 small steelhead caught early a.m. and that was it. maybe another day!

my friend dan and i spent saturday on the kalama. we spent the morning fishing the lower river with no results. then in the afternoon went up into the canyon too try our luck.after a little lunch and a new attitude we hike to one of our favorite springer spots and dan fished with a rag and some eggs, hooked two and landed one abount 15 lbs. i proceeded to take a nap and dan decides too grab my rod that was rigged with a bobber and some eggs five casts later he's into another nice chrome fish also going about 15 lbs. once we landed that we decided that was enough and headed on home. another great day on the kalama!

Fished the lower river on Saturday. Went hole hopping not finding a thing until I walked into $$$ Rock. Hit 2, landed one and saw 3 others hit over the course of the day. Two were on the bank when I got there, at about 9:30, both hit early. I hit my first at 11 and the second at 3:30 after the sun crossed and left shadows on the water. This makes me think the fish were there, just not hitting a thing until they were good and ready. No rollers either. I think some of the fish are getting a little stale and you have to use P&P (patience and pound).

Probably doesn't help any that the tribes are now netting the Columbia. I heard most the fish that were being caught up at the Wind over the weekend were the little ones that could get through the nets.
