Since the U.S. had no rational business in invading Iraq in the first place, the U.S. should just stay the fvck out. Asking Iran to step in might actually be a rational action, they being neighbors and all, if not entirely friendly ones, and the U.S. having a track record of having done absolutely not one thing right with respect to either of those two nations in the entire history of our nation. Seriously, what makes anyone think that anything the U.S. does in response to this situation will turn out to be right?

You should work on keeping your story straight. First you said there was no problem now you are saying there was a problem ? In reality you had no idea then and still have no idea you just come to a conclusion and then try to find evidence to support your view. If we can leave them alone we do , lots of areas of the world need intervention and we mostly stay out of it Africa for example. Ignoring it is not an option if you want to continue to have oil priced on dollars vs gold or other currencies . People want to take the European approach and talk about it while sipping coffee in a detached manor. They can because oil is not tied to their currency directly. I doubt most people even understand the ramifications to the US if it changes. You won't be living anywhere near how you are now . That leaves us with a shatload of shatty options.

I'm starting to think that nationalizing our oil might be worth a try. Take it off the international commodities market and keep it here. I know that kind of thinking may have it's pitfalls but I'm tired of seeing American boys dying and our country going down the sh.iiter because of oil.

Get George Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, and Condaleeza Rice together in a room, and listen to them discuss it. Observe the tossing around of ideas, the in depth inspection of every plan, the weighing of all possible outcomes, and see a strong consensus emerge...

Then do exactly the opposite of that.
