Im not a big soccer fan either but We've been watching the world cup all weekend long. Great games so far. Cant wait to see what the americans can do tomorrow.

Not the biggest soccer fan but I tune in for sure during the World Cup.

soccer requires fans to pay attention all the time while for American Football you can have severe ADD and still follow along.

My niece is in Brazil with friends from Uraquay where she's been interning while working on her master's degree. She made it to South Africa for the WC when she working in Cameroon for the Peace Corp. Kid has more country stamps in her passport than a tour guide.

I watch exactly "zero" soccer except for very rarely, and only during the World Cup. I'll watch the US play if they are on while I am working, but I won't change any plans to make sure I'm around to watch it.

Why does anyone bother comparing American football with international football (soccer)? Might as well compare baseball with basketball. Criticizing the common low scores in soccer ignores the fact that scoring in American football is so infrequent that 6 points are awarded, unless by kicking in which case it's 3. At 1 point per score, American football would produce pretty low scores also. Soccer and basketball players at least play for the entire match or game period, while football provides 8 to 10 seconds of play per minute of game. And then there's baseball, where the pitcher spends more time scratching his crotch than throwing the baseball. I think baseball and sumo wrestling are the only sports that can be played by overweight athletes.

right cause no football players are fat. more baseball players are in shape compared to football players. that's a fact.

Thank you for this correction. It's rather important that the facts are clear when we're bashing and glorifying the various professional sports. I guess it's a good thing then that fat football players only have to play 8 seconds or so out of each minute of the game. I expect someone will soon calculate how much the average NFL player is paid per second of actual playing time per season.
