Don't go to the Hoh yet. The runoff from high mountain snow has it about a foot to high yet. It's not completely out, but it's not prime fishing yet. There have been a few taken still.

I fished the Hoh on the 1st, only caught Dollies. I've heard the Cowlitz has quite a few fish at Blue Creek. Good luck.

Fished from the clay banks to Mission Bar yesterday. We didn't get anything but saw a few caught. They were nice fish!!! we made a quick run down the cowlitz and figured we had time to run up and fish our honey hole at Riffe Lake. we fished for about 1 hr and I laned 2 nice 16 inchers in the first few min. I lost a few other nice ones but atleast I didn't get skunked.

Maybe the summer runs will be get better as the summer goes on.

Fushed the Cowlitz below Blue Creek today from 7:00 til 1:30. Saw around 5 fish caught for 20 boats. My partner had one on for a short time but lost it.
Tight lines, Jeff
PS,
One thing I forgot to add, felt like winter run fishin. Is this June????

Are the boats sleds or driftboats? What is the best thing to use?

Thanks,
Chris

Most of the boats are sleds but when I was on the river I think I was one of 3 drift boats. It's a big river and the best way to fish it is from a sled. but a drift boat will work fine.
I think mostly I see small egg clusters being used on the cowlitz. some shrimp and in Blue creek they use alot of jigs.
