Works great for both Chinook and Coho and you can't keep those chums off the jigs!

Jigs are a real effective way to get salmon. I've landed kings and chums on them (haven't nailed a silver yet on one). Alot of colors that will hit steelies will hit salmon too. I use gawdier colors with salmon though, fatter marabou with krystal flash in it. I've nailed steelhead and salmon on the same jig though on the same day. So, go for it, doesn't hurt to try new things. (I found out a few years ago by accident salmon hit jigs, I was fishing for steelhead and had a nice chum nail my pink/white jig).

I fished for several years with Richard Paradinski,He was a fishing instructor for the oregon fishing club and put on 100's of seminars about jig fishing for GI Joes and Fisherman marine supplys.I didn't know a thing about bobber fishing untill,I met him.
Believe me bobber fishing works useing bait or eggs.Anyone that knew richard will tell you the same.He was awesome to watch when it came to bobber fishing,He was agood friend and an excellent fisherman and taught 100's of people how to fish.He died last year, I miss him and miss fishing with him alot. But man that guy could snore when we went to the coast or the cowlitz my tackle bag ALWAYS had ear plugs in case we would stay the weekend.SO use your bobber with confidence because they will work !!!

Had some success with the std. rigging that one would use for steelies, but when it comes to floats and salmon, be sure to keep your options open with the terminal offering - straight shrimp tails work great for springers (remember all those springer pix from the Duc before I headed north ... all bobber and shrimp), eggs, or combo (cocktail) is a very good bet for fall kings.

And I won't tell all, but perhaps consider using that jig w/o a float too
