Will be renting a boat on two occasions at Ross Lake, once in July and once in the middle of August. Whats the fishing like I fly fish and would like to try trolling with lures too, have not done that in 20 years and seems like it would be fun. Are the fish deep in August and do they come close to the surface in the evening? It looks like such a beautiful place and am looking forward to it. Are any of the feeder creeks fishable?

hi land tuna fished ross in august fished deep with downriggers no fish poped off the downrigger to rerig and whamo fish were in the top 20' of water fished that way for the next two day and nailed tons of fish trolling canadian wonders in silver and brass as for fly fishing buddy caught one just hanging the fly off the water over the boat by accident average size about 14 to 16 inches. all feeder creeks are closed within 100yds from mouth good fishery had a blast
