What Timber man posted on our BB has basis. It's what he left out that is disappointing. And that is there are a majority of good, knowledgable, and very interesting people who also post here on Bob's site! Since I became a member here I have enjoyed some very entertaining and informative post threads. And I have had to take the inevitable crap some guys post with a grain of salt, just like on our board. - Steve

Hey Hairball what are you , a tattle tale? Timber man has a legit complaint . I think this BB has a bunch of holier than thou hypocrites .. If they practice what they preach than fine , but i don`t think they do. How about we all put our handles ( names) on our boats, then we would know who`s doing what!!

My number and business name are on the side of my boat, kinda like one of those How am I driving stickers, just this one says The Steelhead Solution and my phone number, hehe

That's a pretty brash statement for a smolt with 7 posts. Do you actually know ANY of the 1000+ posters here? Then how do you go about concluding that we are "holier than thou hypocrites"? This is exactly the kind of poorly thought out post that leads to comments like that from Timber Man on another BB.

Generalizations like you just made are short-sighted. Believe me, most here DO believe in C&R, not snagging, not crowding other anglers, and showing courtesy on the rivers, so you can raise the "hypocrite flag" elsewhere (try your state Legislature).

All I can say is you really should think more carefully about what you say ( I'm speaking from experience here, thanks Salmo G.!) before you post it on the BB.

Now, whatsay we get back to fishing?

I never said I didnt like Bobs BB it just seems like everyone is arguing..If you are racist SO WHAT thats your choice..If you dont like nets thats your choice...foul language isnt right...there are alot of young people lookin at the BB..I dont have a problem with differences in opinions just seems like everything gets taken to heart lately..Bobs BB is great I have read it since Nov.before I registered and made any posts and there is alot of great info..Didnt mean to ruffle any feathers. I say lets all get out and fish and lets hear about some BIG ONES

No offense taken or feather's ruffled here, I think everyone's a little tense, but that will end after this heat wave passes (anyone else ready to ship the heat to Arizona and begin the fall already?).

Anyway, you're right, let's get back to fishing and leave the insults and profanity to the rest of the internet.

Dan S., I must confess, I too watched this board for several months(just shy I guess)before I ever made my first post. I have over this period of time enjoyed reading this board alot. It has been entertaining and interesting both. But, I must admit there are times when I wonder when someone is screaming about CnR of nates(which I personally practice)are they the same person who is fishing diver and baits in March and April? Because if they are they are hypocrites!!! I fished this technique for many years and have cut off a ton off(O.K.maybe not a ton but quite afew)leaders because they get SUCKED down. I think people who have fished this way have also seen the High percentage of fish that get hooked to deep. My feelings are that if we really care for the resource than we should take it alittle further than just releasing fish. I guess what I am saying is that some people act as if they have never killed a nate but I say if your fishing for them than there is going to be some impact especially with certain methods used.

Dan S. your right , I got a little carried away. But sometimes you guys jump on a guy like a pack of dogs... BTW i been reading this board for awile, just haven`t posted.. I think my statement stems from a bad experance i had with a guide on the Duc last March..

Around the campfire it is not unusual to hear occasional profanities and at times they will even make a smile or a few good laughs. But for the most part prejudicial or racisit statements usually throw a chilling blanket over the gathering, it would appear that this web site is a bit like a campfire with folks gathering around for social contact and what ever else it is they do in there lives will be reflected in what they do here. So I guess my point is I'd much rather hear language my mommy wouln't have approved of than someone who for whatever reason has an axe to grind with a group of individuals because of their race. However having said all that I just gotta say that "Gillnetters are a lower form of life".

Hey steely67, I think that is a fine idea about putting on the names. I see you are from the Dalles. I will be fishing the Klick often this summer so if you see my "handle" flag me over and see how holy I am. I will guarentee you that I will have a cold beverage of choice in the boat and hopefully a fish along with the forever ending line of B.S...If you have a drift boat I'm sure you won't be a hypocite and not have your handle on it!?!

Hey Horny Hunter , you bet i will be on the Klick this summer . I`m thinking about putting THE BEST HEAD IS STEELHEAD on my boat...think that would offend anyone?? Or maybe i should put TEAM OREGON , nah, thats nothing to brag about. I will take you up on that cold brew though , hope you don`t drink that high dollar stuff.. See you on the river..
