dfg is trying to limit leader to 48" for puyallup and nisqually. if this passes they will restrict fishing even more to other rivers.. here goes link to comment on dfg site. together we can fight it!http://wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/northfalcon/

Last guy I saw using a leader longer than 48" was a snagger.

Wonder who that was?

I think 48" is generous. I won't be opposing the change, and I hope they include the Skok as well.

fine with me... what they should do with the Puyallup especially on the lower river is do as they did with the Skok, first 2 legally caught fish you are done fishing.... there is no reason 20k fish should be snagged to harvest 1k fish....

Yes i snagged this one on 60" leader under a 1/4oz float splitshot 8mm bead. super deadly in clear water 48" doesnt work as well. as far as spey and fly they will be restricted also pretty lame.

Make the Skok float and eggs only, increase the limit to three and extend the season by two weeks (in order to harvest the massive surplus of Chinook the hatchery does not need). Once they see how well and orderly it would become (within two seasons) by the non-tribal anglers, the plan would extend to these other snag fisheries. Ohhhh to dream! That place could be awesome for a month and a half if it was a float and egg show only

Come fish in the skok promise land with myself and the group of regular egg tossers I fish around. And it's awesome every day all day with no snagging in sight.

It would be just like the department to limit lining on the puyallup where visibility is 6 inches and the pinks will out number everything by 50 to 1 and then ignore the Cowlitz and skok

Who needs a leader longer than 3' in any river?. I do run a 4' leader for cut plug though. Pass it. Good luck,

SZ

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

I'm sure this proposed rule will fix the problem.

Either that, or f'n snaggers will just figure out a way around the rule and keep snagging their asses off. And, gee - a 5-foot leader makes you a snagger, not a 2-oz cannonball with a 47" leader.

Waste of f'n time if you ask me - another brick of good intention in the road to hell.
