We've been lamenting for years that the Hawks' o-line sucks balls. Getting rid of their only solid player from that unit might not make them better.

Can you tell I don't like this trade? I'm sure Carroll and Schneider's brilliance will shine through somehow, but right now, I'm having a hard time seeing it. It's probably one of those deals where they're looking at cap impacts a year or two down the road, and the value won't become clear until then, but in the short term, I think the Saints came out well ahead on this one.

Unger has shown to be somewhat injury prone of late, but the difference in the Hawks' running attack with him in the lineup vs. out has been night and day. Remember the Kansas City game last season? With Unger in the game, Beast Mode was unstoppable. As soon as Unger got hurt, that came to an abrupt halt. Coincidence? I doubt it.

It will be interesting to see how this pans out. I really shouldn't question Carroll and Schneider; they've made a legend out of seemingly questionable decisions leading to calculated results....

I don't like losing Unger...but don't worry about the fact that Jimmy's not a great blocker...that's not why he's here.

Instead of thinking of him as a poor blocking TE who can catch, think of him as a gigantic wide receiver who can play some TE, too.

Losing Carp & Unger on the same day when your weak point is O-line & WR doesn't make this look all that good on the outside...............However if there's one thing I've learned in the past 5 years is to never doubt Schnieder & Carroll. That being said I think they see something in Willis the back up center when Unger was out and slide Bailey to left guard to help Ankles Okung......................Carp played his best season last year knowing it was a contract year...............it may have paid off for both the "Hawk's" and Carp. Hawks needed someone big to go get the ball, and....we got that with graham. Iffy if we could have got a guy like him in the draft.

Downside he will be 29 next November.

Unger hasn't stayed healthy an entire season the last two years and their wasn't any majorly noticeable drop-off in play at the position when our back ups stepped in. We're giving up the 31st pick for him and we're getting a 4th round pick back. Who would we have picked up with the 31st pick? We probably would've traded out. This was a frickin steal of a deal. We straight up just robbed the Saints.

Since I'm not an expert football analyst like Sol Dunce, I have some questions.

1. Supposedly they're all pros, but could Graham be another Harvin in the locker room and not fit in with the team?

2. I heard that Graham makes most of those great plays and TDs when the Saints played bad teams, and that his performance isn't so hot against good teams. Can he make tough plays like Lynch and Wilson make tough plays?

3. Graham doesn't block. Is that fixable?

4. How does the loss of Unger affect the OL?

Schneider and Carrol have done some amazing things with the team's talent, but they have also made some less than stellar acquisitions, although you'd never know it reading SD's posts.
