Personally I feel the answer is releasing seaman.

mariners are for ever chasing the 500 line. doesn't mater who's in 1st place. just chasing the 500 line. mariners have always had issues with the balance of superior pitching with superior hitting in the same season.

M's have not developed or acquired any offense.(ex. Cruz) Their OBP sucks this year and is on Parr with the last ten years. Roll out the Griffey and Edgar highlights from 20 years ago and let's move on to next season...

Cruz and Hernandez have played about as good as they can play . Cano can pick it up but if the other two play the same is that enough to make a run ? I would not bet on it. Another season of blue balls for the Mariners fans.

If there is one stat in baseball that can determine an outcome; it is OBP. The M's have been in the tank for the last 10 yrs+, with this year following that trend. No baserunners, no runs. Acquiring home run hitters doesn't work if you don't have men on base. Does someone know the Giants OBP vs. M's OBP for this season?
