Our taxpayers dollars hard at work no doubt.

The public will fund this event in soooo many ways and the Coast Guard is just a small example.

Fancy lad golftards get the special spelling.

The worst part of all this is Fathers Day. I have to have dinner at the GF's parents’ house and her pops is a huge golf nut. The cheese and cracker crowd will be appeased or there will be ramifications. At least the ol' Codger can turn off his hearing aids to drown out the lamentations of the women.

FML. The things we do for a little trim amirite fellas?

Golf is an great game to play, fun to watch on TV if it's raining sideways and a waste of time to watch in person. Used to sponsor what is now the Boeing classic. Met jack Nicklaus , first class prick. Arnold Palmer stayed up and told stories in the club house until 2AM with a drink , just one of the guys.

Quit golf two years ago, got tired of flushing $50 green fees for 5+ hours of slow paced golf behind idiots who shouldn't be on a golf course. However, several years ago my cousins and I would head up to Kelowna, BC for 12 rounds of golf (never the same course) over 6 days. Great weather, no crowds, the dollar was giving us a bargain and the jugs of Kokanee went down effortlessly.

OK, so how about this idea? The Mariners send their talent scout to the US Open and maybe snag a few heavy hitters in hopes of salvaging the season. Sound like a plan?

I don't have the time to golf and I can't hit a drive straight or far. I've seen Chambers Bay from the water out crabbing a couple of years ago. Watching it this weekend just because it's local and I know alot of people that have attended. Is Chamber's creek where all those hatchery steelhead originated? Too bad the boathouse at Narrows Marine burned up in the background.

AP summed it up pretty well. I'm not particularly a golf fan but we ended up going just for the experience. Lots of walking around aimlessly. There really isn't a whole lot to see unless you are really into golf and follow a lot of the players. We ended up just posting up on the 18 at the green and watch players finish out. It was cool for about 2-3 hours then we got bored and left. I'd rather watch golf on tv instead of watching it in person, and I'd rather watch a lot of other things than golf on TV, and I'd rather do a million other things than watch tv.

I will be attending the Masters one day....one of those bucket list things. Nothing else like it in golf, one sporting event I really look forward to watching. Daytona 500 is another one and I'm not a race fan.

Back in the 60's I was stationed at Fort Gordon, just outside of Augusta, Ga. Scored a ticket for the Masters. I had golfed during H.S and College, nothing serious, just for fun. The Masters, too many people, too hot, didn't know the best place to observe. Waste of my time. The current golf thing in Tacoma waste of my time also. Also went to the Datona 500 of whatever they called then, that was exciting! Always been a car guy, would prefer to be racing but it was a good weekend.
