I fished there on the evening of the opener and again last night. The fishing has been very good. On Tuesday evening, the guy who took me out caught a 21 pounder. Last evening, I went out in my boat with my wife and a buddy and we caught a 20 and a 16 pounder and were done in an hour (my wife just goes for the sun).
A buddy who I see out there every year caught a 38 pounder on the evening of the 1st.
I have seen lots and lots of fish caught, besides the ones I described.
All the fish I described were caught on straight cut-plug herring, trolled as slowly as you can manage, at about 40 feet deep, off a downrigger.
We have had better luck around the bouy on the Tacoma side, as opposed to the bouy on the Brown's Point side.
I drive a 1988 Bayliner Trophy 2110, ragtop, named the AliKat. Say "hello" if you see me out there. Good luck!!

Hey T-Dodge, I have seen you and the Ali-Cat many times out there, at the Point and Dalco, and just saw you the other day trolling the mouth. I too have been doing well, sometimes even closer to my back door, if you know what I mean by my signature!
I have been fishing out of my new boat lately, which is a 215 Campion walkaround. I usually fish out of my 18ft Alumaweld sled(Formula Vee, with a grey top-paint). It has a 115 Yamaha, Merc. Kicker and also usually I have my MinnKota Electric attached too. I usually fish the same tides and places you do and will give you a holler when I see you next time.
Take it easy and leave a few of the large ones for me to catch during our next Puget Sound Anglers derby coming up in the next few weeks. LOL!

Hey schitzo, i fish the Puyallup alot, just started trying fish for the kings late last year. Mostly i have fished for steelhead with moderate to low success, but that is the Puyallup. Maybe we can hook up sometime and shoot the breeze while we are dragging water from the banks.

SCHITZO, I fished sunday down at dead mans hole. No fish even jumped or rolled. Did have an interesting conversation with a member of the Puyallup tribe. He used to net the river as a main source of money, but had to give it up to support his family and get a regular job. He is going to start coming out evenings and weekends with his 9 yr old son. He fishes mainly for silvers, so he only uses short nets to drift with. Nice guy, and he proved a point i made many threads back. Netting can not make a decent wage for anyone except the fish buyer's.
No i havent seen much on the Nisqually yet. still need rain for both rivers to start the fish back up stream. I will be down around dead man's sunday again, i drive and 85 Black S10 Blazer 4x4. Hope to see ya.

hey emltree, im not sure where the dead mans hole is.. but i have been fishing about jus down from the bridge nearest where them dudes have that fake moose mounted up at there store (hope you arent confused) i fished last night, i did see a jack jump and have heard of some rolling, and from time to time i see where a fish is crusin jus below the surface makin a wake, are these the bog boys or jus jacks that do that? also, i was wondering haveyou ever plunked a wiggle wart, and if so, whats the best length of leader to use, so as to let the wart do its job right, im usin about a 4 foot leader at the moment and no strikes..well, i will be down there almost evry night this week fishing, see ya around ***schitzo***

Schitzo, the dead man hole is down below the bar, just where the brush starts back up, just past all the big railroad totes on levey road. there are only 2 good roads down and between or just below there is where i fish most of the time. Yea i know where the moose is, you are just below Clarks creek on the levey road side. can drive down there anymore with the corp digging up the old road, unless you have a motorcycle. I may swing down on my way home wednesday evening. Thursday i going to head down south and see if Osprey is getting a head start on everyone else.

Hey schitzo wab. stopped by just before high tide, saw 2 guys fishing the mouth of the clark, one throwing spoons and the other fishing bait or corkie on the milk line. No one on the across from the Moose.
Well went down to my fav spot, had a bunch of people there, slipped in and fished for 2 hours, borrowed some herring filets, tough to tye on a wiggle wart.
Hey marty, your slip it down the main line works pretty good, unless i forgot i have a bobber stop 12 ft up line, just wonder why the wart was not going down at first.
Back to fishin, caught a scaulpin on a strip and appeared to have a couple of tail wacks, knocked the hook all the way up around the line 2nd time. But nothing in the freezer.

hi elmtree, i dint get to go fishing last nite, how is the drift thru there below clarks creek, is it a deep holding hole? you dont have to give me any info on it, but i am gonna try it soon,i may go down there tonite ( thurs) if i get time..so when them fish whacked it, did your pole bounce hard? cuz i have noticed that sumtimes my pole will bounce more than normal, and was wondering what was making it do that..what size line do you use and what kind? well hopefully see ya down there, maybe not this weekend cuz im going to potholes to camp, is there good fishing over there? see ya later ***shcitzo***

![](http://www.piscatorialpursuits.com/ubb/wink.gif) Schitzo, the pole just knid of shook and took a bit of a dip, not like what the wiggle wart normal wiggle. Sure is tough to put a filet on a wiggle wart, had to tie it on below the bill, the body is too fat and round, kept slipping off, even with magic thread. Hey marty, again thanks for the sliding idea for the warts, worked great, except till i figured out i was not as deep as i thought with the bobber stop 10 ft up from the bead. Still the warts stayed down, i think a 2 ft leader would work better as my drop line is only 12" to the bead. I was using my medium wt 8'6" rod with only 12lb main line and 15 lb leader. My reel is a little small for salmon, but i play out the fish so i have never needed 200 ft of line. My dropper is a factory steel ste up with a swivel on both ends and a clip on the bottom to hook into the weight. ------------------ elmtree (woody)

Schitzo I have always used 12 lb main line on any bigger fish, even when i fished out in the ocean, just perference.
I use a swivel to attach the wart to the main line, seems to let it wiggle free and won't twist up the line it it gets hit and goes sideways. i tied the line the swivel like using a spoon, run the leader the length you want and tie on another swivel. then like marty said hook the top swivel onto your main line after you cast it out, hold high at first and as it hits the water lower so the leader and plug will just pull itself down to your stopper. At least this is what i was doing down lower when i had those funny bumps on my pole. I am going south Sunday to see if there are any fish in the Nasty. Osprey may come down too, so if you are inclined stop on in.

Howdy S.W.A.B., I was just wondering if you got my E-mail a couple weeks ago regarding Reiter. The action has been fair up there and with all the saltwater fishing now, the pressure is min. A purple crappie jig 4ft. under is working for me, and flies drifted with a long leader are also taking fish. If you didn't receive the info let me know and I'll resend it. And all the steelies say I'm pretty white, for a fly-guy.
